Just got it now. In perfect condition.Skimmed through .. looks great and promising.May be I’ll post an update later about the content.Yet from the first look I can tell it’s great.Lots of info presented clearly and nicely!

As a kid, I hated history…so playing catch up. I find some history books so dense and difficult to really get a lay of the land. This book delivers EXACTLY what I’m looking for. Simple overview, illustrations, timelines, “what happened before” “what happened after”. I truly believe that this is the perfect book to learn about English history. Will be buying more in the series!

I've seen some reviews kicking the tyres of this book for certain conceptual reasons which I wouldn't debate really. What helps me though to enjoy this book more if I'm not very strict on debatable details and conceptual ratios is that I consider this a guide (as it's intended to be based on the title) and no more.The visual material is solid and interesting, the text is pointing to backbones of historical events and theories of interpretation and takes on the anyway difficult task to make an organic line of concept what can be called history of Britain an Ireland. The whole perspective of these books is to be a park full of traffic signs that helps to navigate between events and overview the wider arch of history, whether the details are limbing here and there I don't find to be a problem. For those interested in going deeper into rabbit holes, there are tons of other books to go to - and from those I would also expect to be thought provoking as well as accurate on certain level.This one is just great to skim over when the itch comes and also it helps to lure and trap people into the discipline of history overall.
