Cabinet Scraper Burnisher with Stained Hornbeam Handle 872401

I've been using a Phillips screw driver for my scrappers, but they don't do a very good job. For such a simple tool, I've been put off over the expense of a burnisher. For the quality, the Narex burnisher appears to be a fair value and does a much better job.

Actually, I have a question: Why did I wait so long to get one of these? It's a quality product at an affordable price. Narex is a truly amazing manufacturer to be able to combine hight quality and low price. Oh, and it arrived "Pronto".

When I read the description I wasn't sure how "big" the tool was it was listed as 5.9 inches or 150mm, turns out they are referring to the metal part of the tool only, The whole tool including the handle is around 11 inches long - full size.This is the first burnisher I have bought so all I can really say is that it does a much better job sharpening my card scraper than the screwdriver I was using before. It feels like a quality tool.

I rated it a four because I don't have much to compare it to. I am very pleased with it. I've used other hardened steel (for sharpening card scrapers) such as Allen wrenches etc. with limited success. The Narex burnished is much much better than those 'make do' tools. It helped me create very good scraper edges quickly and with less effort. But I don't have any experience with other burnishes to make a comparison.

I'm new to scrapers, and this is my first burnisher. I can't imagine this will need replacing any time soon! I used it to burnish my new scrapers, and my scrapers are working well. I have large hands, and it is comfortable to hold.Narex seems to make good quality tools, especially for the price point they sell at. I have enjoyed using their chisels, mallets and rasps. This burnisher is just another tool to add to the set.

i tried burnishing some card scrapers per Paul Seller's recommendations (using a nail set, a punch, back of a chisel, screwdriver, etc.), but just couldn't get it to work. probably a combination of inexperience and poor technique on my part? the scraper just ended up scratching the tools... so i resorted to this burnisher, and for me it worked perfectly. highly recommend.

What a nice hunk of steel. Handle is beautiful and just fine old world craftmanship. Tried it out right away and put a nice burr on my card scraper. A much better burr than the old screwdriver i was using. I really believe this is a must have for working the burr on a scraper. I would say i would by this again but I suspect that unless I lose it or its stolen this will easily last a lifetime
