Decent upgrades to the best kid’s tracker out there!
*April 2022 update at the end*We’ve had this Fitbit Ace 3 since launch, and I’d like to point out a few of the upgrades when compared to the Fitbit Ace 2:- More rounded / Curved shape, seems like it would feel more comfortable to wear. The part to tuck in the strap is also better, strap doesn’t come out as often if your kid had that issue- Better screen - the animations and display look better- Longer battery life. It is now 8 days instead of 6, and the battery noticeably lasts much longer- New animated faces (a few), with apparently Minion licensed content and straps coming soon- No more one button on the left. Both left and right side have these two touch sensors which can be used for going back to the menu or activating the water lock- Waterproofing has been improved to a depth of 50m, but if your kid is going for a swim, they’ll have to turn on the water lock (long press of both sensors, and then double tap screen when it asks you to)- Still connects seamlessly with the Fitbit app and kids view mode etc.- BIGGEST UPGRADE: Fitbit has since the last 2-3 years moved to bad charging connectors in my opinion, the old Alta 2 ones were the best. The Ace 2 and Inspire use magnetic chargers made of plastic but they don’t hold well. With the Ace 3, they’ve added two clips that hold the charger in place. Not sure if other new fitbit chargers have this, but this is a big upgrade from the old Ace 2 charger which was not easy to hold in placeAll in all, neat upgrades to the best kids tracker out there, at the same price point as before!July 2021 update: as promised, Fitbit has updated the app to include new Minion animated faces! Kid loves it, thanks! :)April 2022 update: alright guys, the Fitbit Ace 3 that we have is going strong. Through sports, getting wet, and the daily wear and tear of a 6 year old. But CHECK THIS.. the battery life is just INCREDIBLE. This Ace 3 holds charge for 3-4 weeks easily. Easily. I’m curious to hear other peoples experience as we have a day one device, but I’m just blown away. They said the battery life was upgraded to 8 days, but going almost a month without charge is just amazing. Well done, Fitbit. Well done.

My 12 year old loves it
The reminders to move really keep my son motivated to get up from his video games and move and he tries to beat his own personal steps goal every day. The battery life is great, we only have to charge it once every week or two (as opposed to my Apple Watch which has to be charged every other day). Be likes the alarm feature as well. Very happy!

Great Size for 7y.o. Girl w/ Slim Build
I was looking for a replacement for a Garmin Vivo Fit 2 after it failed. We've only had it in service a few days, but my daughter really likes it (she likes the ability to switch to the Minon watch face, and we've had some "steps" competitions). I purchased this watch as some of the other kids watches are extremely oversized in my opinion. I also like the simplicity of this watch's design and functions. My daughter was intuitively able to understand how to navigate through the functions right out of the box.The watch connected to the smartphone app right away and syncing has worked every time without issue. I think this is one of the best options on the market based on compact size (sized appropriately for smaller wrists), functions (we didn't want a true "smart watch", or even one that pretends to be a smart watch), brand name/durability, and price.IMO kids of this age don't need additional exposure to screens or games. Make them go do physical play and use their imaginations. The main features we wanted were something that could show the time, a step counter, and a timer. My daughter uses the timer to make sure she's getting her daily reading minutes in and this allows her to be more autonomous when doing this.I do wish there were more band styles available though. For example, I wish there were stretchy silicone/rubber bands like there were for the Vivo Fit 2. Maybe they are available and I just haven't found them yet.

Do not waste your money on this device!
The tracker inside the silicone watch band can apparently pop out of the silicone band very easily. We bought this watch for our son for his 10th birthday because he really wanted a fitbit. He literally had it for one day with no issues. The second day he had worn it to the soccer fields and while at the game, he took the watch off and we strapped it to my cooler strap because he was not allowed to wear it while playing. After the game, we passed out team snacks from the cooler and then walked back to the van and drove home. When we got home, we unstrapped the watch from the cooler to find that all we had was the silicone band, still attached to my cooler, but the tracker/watch part was gone. This watch is nearly $90. The tracker should not be able to just fall out of the silicone band while it was hanging from a bag while I was walking across a field. I was in control of the cooler the entire time and it was definitely not just flung all around so it is definitely not a very good design. And the even bigger surprise, when I reached out to FitBit which is now owned by google...they claim this isn't covered under their warranty. So they aren't going to stand by their product. My husband and I have owned many FitBit products over the years and have always been happy. But I am so disappointed that this watch, which isn't cheap for a kid product, was not at all well developed. We will be making the switch to Garmin watch products after the experience we had with this watch and with FitBit customer service.Buyer beware. If you are considering this watch, you may as well just throw $90 in the trash. This is not a reflection on Amazon at all, by the way.
