French Roast Coffee Beans - Small Batch, Certified Organic - 32 oz - 2 lb - Handcrafted Micro Roast By Stack Street

Coffee was bought after seeing a pretty good price and good reviews. In general I am a fan of darker roasts, and prefer to make coffee with either the Aeropress or a French Press, and sometimes pour over.The coffee came in a 2-lb well sealed bag. I am not sure of the roasting date but seems fresh and new. However darker roasts don't last as long so would prefer to have this info.After opening the bag, the beans were glossy and had a pleasant aroma. The beans were not as consistent as I expected, some darker than others. I have learned this is sometimes intentional but not something I am used to without a coffee being labeled a blend. But just my opinion.Grinding the coffee gave a pleasant aroma, and I have made it with many different brewing methods. The coffee itself lacks anything exceptional, but very drinkable. Compared to another cup with the exact same brewing but different beans, I would call Stack Street "weaker" than most dark roasts. On the plus side it is not bitter, and probably would be best suited for someone who likes to add cream, sugar or flavorings. I like it black or with just a touch of cream, and have had beans I enjoy more. However, brewing it with a French Press and a longer than average brewing time gives the best result, and will be how I will drink these.

these beans are not roasted evenly it seems each bean has a different color some are dark like French roast and some are just brownish color. It lacks the intensity of flavor that is normally attributed to a French roast hence the 2 stars. Amazon was quick and fast on the delivery is why I did not go with one. If you are looking for a true French roast find something that has deeper color to the beans the flavor is not bad just the roast on the beans is incredibly uneven.

I don't know when I turned into a 'coffee snob,' but I've recently been told I am... I started grinding whole bean coffee and tasting new and different brands each time I needed a new bag. This one has become my new favorite. It has a full taste that doesn't remind me of old rain water that's been sitting in a public ashtray mixed with asphalt like some coffees seem to taste...

After trying this and a few other highly rated bean coffees (Don Pablo, San Francisco Bay), this one is our favorite. It's strong and smooth with no rough aftertaste, even when you use a lot of it. Not as oily as some, but dependable and solid.Our go-to coffee used to be Eight O'clock "Italian Roast", which was inexpensive at the now defunct A&P.

I have experimented with various high caffeine coffees - this is a very good surprise! Smooth - not bitter, just a really good cup of coffee. For me a definite x5 Star!

I was surprised when I received the Stack Street Coffee It has a rich flavor and is so worth the money It compairs with the well know starbucks I will be ordering again and stocking up before everyone finds out the best deal in town

This is a surprisingly good coffee and works well in my French press formulation. It is a good price and I will be ordering more.
