I've been testing a lot of lighting lately. This spring, we'll be sprucing up our yard and putting in the gardens, and I want to add some lighting. When I was testing this light, I had lights from two other brands handy, though one is already installed and in use, so not in the comparison photo.This light is compact and lightweight. There's no need to wonder if the place you want to put it is going to be sturdy enough to hold it, as long as it is sturdy enough to remain upright.I did have some trouble getting it to turn on, but once I figured out how to use the "key" to get to the spot under the cover, it seemed obvious and easy. I wouldn't want to put this in a place where you would maybe want to turn it off and on regularly. I had planned to use it for my deck, but I don't always want it to be lit when I'm out there. Sometimes dark and quiet is better.That said, the reason it's not great for my deck might just be the reason it would work for you. You don't have to fiddle with it once it's installed, and it is bright enough to be used for safety. This easily illuminated my 5'x7' deck when placed above the entry door. I believe it will find it's "forever" home on our detached garage.The motion sensors detect movement at right around 12-15 feet. Of course, it takes time for the chip to tell the lights to turn on, so if you're running straight at it, you can be a little closer before it activates. Yes, I feel the need to test things like that. I like to be thorough.This is a more compact design than most others I've tried. I show it with the perspective of another similar light, my 2x4 deck railing, and my "SUV". Don't be put off by the small size, because it makes no difference to its operation. Actually, this would be great for cramped places, like a fire escape or on your mailbox post (Pointing away from the road so as not to interfere with driving, of course.)As a product tester and consultant, I did receive a discount on my first purchase of this product for the promise of my review. These are some great little lights. They are pretty bright. dont quite have to coverage i was hoping for, but for the size, and price, they are pretty good. motion detection works good. range seems to be about what the description says. comes with screws and 3m tape for multiple installation choices. Use metal pin to push in power button under the hole by the motion sensor. not sure how people are messing this up. they stay on dim mode the whole time, until motion is detected then they go full brightness. will be purchasing more. wish it was in white though to match my siding.update 4/29/16I decided to buy 2 more lights. the 2 i got were not the same as the ones i literally just bought a week ago. The "old" ones have 8 leds and had a dim to bright feature. the "new" ones only had 4 leds and no dim to bright mode. The description mentions the dim feature and in the product details and there is a 8 next to the number of lights. ive included a pics. the light on the left is the "old" light. "new" light is on right. They even came in the same box with the same product code or UPC. I even made sure i got all 4 lights from the same vendor. Angellas lamps fullfilled by amazon. ***BUY AT YOUR RISK***

I read the description and reviews and they all made it sound like this was a bright great light. I have to disagree, this light is smaller than I thought it would be, it is made of a thin plastic, and the light is not bright at all, I have it placed so it will shine down on our front porch steps, it is attached the to corner of the house where it gets plenty of light during the day and it still does not shine bright enough to illuminate the 5 steps I have it shining on.

I am so totally impressed with little solar powered light!! I received this light at a discounted price in exchange for using it, and giving an honest review about it. This light deserves the 5 stars with which I have rated with. It was very easy to install giving several options on how to hang or install it. First option, you can permanently hang it with the screws provided, and if you have a wall that has no support for screws, you are given Mollies to secure the screws. Second option you can hang it like a picture, where it can easily be removed and moved to a different location. Third option, you are given a large piece of double sided foam tape, so you don't need to use the screws at all. I purchased a similar light a few weeks ago, and it was a nice little solar light, not really bright, but okay. I bought this little light, because the other one just was not bright enough for the area I need light in. I mounted this little light, and it really puts the other one to shame! The motion sensor covers a wider area than the other, and this one is so much brighter too. I wish that I had bought this little light in the first place, it is so far superior to the other one I purchased.Even the solar panel in it is very sensitive, I had to install it where it doesn't get direct sunlight, just ambient sunlight, but that was enough to fully charge the batteries, and give bright light come the darkness. I have both lights in the same area, not 8 feet apart, and there is just no contest, this motion detection, solar light is 10 times better, and brighter than the other I purchased last week. If you have a place outside where you have no electricity, and need it lit up, this very bright compact sized, motion detection, solar light would be the perfect choice. Don't waste your money on the other lights offered elsewhere, this is the one you will be most happy with, just like I am, and as I said I am comparing them basically side by side. I am very happy with this little light so I am giving it the 5 stars it deserves, not only for it's quality, but also the 3 options you get in installing it. I am very satisfied with my purchase, and you will be also if you choose this light over the others.
