Previous to this my handheld was only good in line of sight situations of about 2-4 miles max in optimal conditions. Im in a city so there is alot of interference. I was even having a hard time hitting a repeater 5 miles away and its mounted high. Base station hits it with no issue. In the woods this thing is great upstate ny 5-8 miles with no issues and the standard antenna. I needed a solution.I purchased a dual band magnetic roof antenna.I have a baofeng UV5RA handheld. Anyone who has a Baofeng or Woxun knows the odd connector they use compared to just about everyone else. I can hit the repeater and my friends at some serious distance now. It was a great Price with excellent construction. My UV5R this adapter and a dual band tram magnetic mount antenna Im hitting repeaters at 10 miles sometimes more.

This cable worked great in my vehicle. While I was waiting on my IC-2300H to come in, I used this cable to connect to my Baofeng UV5R. This cable allowed the small handheld to transmit from the outside antenna and exponentially increased my range to the local repeaters.I will also use this on the road when I’m in need of GMRS frequencies since my ICOM doesn’t work on the UHF frequencies.

This cable has very little loss (I mean, it's only 3 feet long) and the connections appear to be very well made. In short, it's a very technically sound cable that gets the signal from my rooftop mobile antenna to my HT.My only real complaint is that, while it doesn't specifically say the radio end is a swivel connection, I expected it to be, so buyer beware. As this was marketed specifically for HTs, the swivel end seemed implied - since the only other option is to spin the HT 12 times to get it screwed in and that would just be silly.

Works well with Baofeng uv-5ra ht. Had an earlier version that was a very small coax and the first time I used it, it failed. Replaced with this one.

Using it on my handheld for an interior antenna connection to a LMR240 jumper. Provides flexibility at the HT rather than using a coax conversion fitting putting more pressure on the antenna connector.

Everything I thought it would be. Good quality cable that is flexible. Yes it is more ridged than the cheap cables I have seen. But that is why I bought this one.
