Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy by Dav Pilkey - Paperback

My 7 year-old guy was thrilled to receive! My only negative was that he finished it in one sitting and asked for another- which for anyone looking to find a series that their child will enjoy reading would be a positive thing!

Captain Underpants books have been a favorite, of my grandson, from the first book to this, his latest addition.During my last visit I read him two chapters and I can see why.

My 6 year old is obsessed with Dav Pilkey. He makes his own Captain Underpants comics and these books make us laugh.So far this is the grossest of them all however, a bit much for me, but it makes my son laugh out loud and keeps him interested in reading and drawing. I think it's more for 8 or 9 year olds so I am often telling my son what words mean, which is great because his vocabulary is expanding immensely.It's good to read them in order but not mandatory. I think these books are an incredible way to get little boys interested in reading. Smartly written yet filled with great jokes and pranks.

My kids love the Captain Underpants books! I love anything that keeps my bookworms engaged, but these are fun to read together, and chock full of hidden jokes for the parents too. Yes, they have a lot of what my MIL calls "potty humor " but hey, farts are funny. They're funny, just challenging enough for readers only beginning to build confidence, and teach life lessons about being good to friends, and standing up to bullies.

My daughter LOVES this series. She loves this series so much that she usually hops in to bed a little bit earlier so that we can read a few extra chapters. This is our bedtime book. Before this series my daughter HATED reading, it was easier to bring her to the doctor for a shot than it was to get her to read a book. This series has opened her up to exploring other books as well. I'm not sure that this series is for everyone, It has a lot of silly potty humor and intentional misspellings (comic books that were supposed to be written by the main characters who are in 4th grade (?)) and such. I like the books and I'm hoping that series will be the beginning of a life long love of books.
