Circle Parental Controls 3 Month Subscription - Internet & Mobile Devices - Works on WiFi, Android & iOS Devices - Control Apps, Set Screen Time Limits, Block & Filter Content

I used this to specifically block YouTube from my daughter’s school issued Chromebook over which I have no control. It’s amazing to have that level of authority given back to me as a parent. She was watching and listening to filth, and I couldn’t stop her. Thanks to this device, that is a worry off the past.

Where I live we lose signal at times so I could not use this much. I also work many hours and do not make time to use the app so it may be more of my time-limits and comfort, than an issue with the product.

This hardware should be in EVERY household with children. To be able to monitor and control a child’s electronic device(s) is remarkable in daily use. The Circle app is broad in its usage, covering more devices and apps than I could mention. The control choice are numerous; I discover more each time I use it. The monthly charge by Circle is minimal considering the return it gives a parent. My rating: 10+ well deserved points.

I was never able to get it working.

I have found this product to be pretty much useless for its intended purpose.It relies on the MAC address to track devices. But on any newer device the MAC address changes every time the device logs onto the network. So you can't track the devices. The work around is you have to load the circle app onthe device it self. But that means loading the circle app on every single device. All my kids phones Ipads and computers....we are talking more than 20 devices. Once you do that it also slows there devices. Plus with any amount of tech savvy they can remove the app.In addition, the circle device itself adds lag to the network degrading its performance. Also it only controls one network. It can control both 2.4 and 5 ghz on a single network name, but if you have two or more separate network names in you house you are out of luck. For example I have a network at the router, and then another network at the Rukkus WAP. I can only control one with the circle, whihc ever one a connect the circle device to (router or switch/wap)All in all I just find the product to be close to useless. Right now I just use it to control two younger kids iphones and ipads on (one network 4 devices) . Doesn't really prevent workarounds by them on other devices. When the three month initial subscription ends, I will just unplug it and throw it away. I'll just go back to human interaction as the parental control means.

Works well.

The web filter works only occasionally. Sometimes the correct websites are filtered an other times not. Even though the filter is unreliable the time limit feature works as advertised and the user interface is good.

It does do somethings okay. But anything downloaded can be used offline, so any shows.The most annoying thing is just trying to find a device to set it up. Its horrible, and way to complicated making it somewhat less than helpful.

It does what the description says. And it does it good. However it will slow down your fast internet by 70%.Needs software improvement towards speed.I would recommend this anyway.

We use the circle mainly for kicking my kids off for bed. Unfortunately within a day my 12 year old figured out how to turn the VPN off on her phone and iPad; which means no bedtime shut off, no usage tracking - nothing. Circle site says there’s no way around this as it’s an iOS feature. So it’s pretty pointless when a kid can circumvent it so easily 🤷🏻‍♀️

After upgrading my Orbi router, I realized the new Orbi's do not come with Circle anymore, and the new Netgear controls come with very minimal controls without a subscription. Circle even without a subscription does what I need it to do, and the cost of the unit is the same as a 1yr subscription to Netgears!!!!

Don't spend your money on this. The login servers are unreliable at best and go down for long periods of time. I am at day 6 of being unable to use the app or website to use the device, which makes this a completely pointless purchase. It also slows down the bandwidth if you use any filters on it for internet usage. It easily halves the speed of your internet or more to the point of their being not enough bandwidth for any websites to load. There are also all kinds of videos and tutorials about how to bypass this device, so expect teens to figure out how to get around the devices blocking restrictions.
