I think it can be carried on the person, but generally this should be placed in room positions near the panic button being pressed. Yes it’s battery operated means it can be, I assumed with the person, just remind also it’s meant to be hanged in a place where it can be heard, as this needs to be combined close within at least 10-100 metres without obstruction, causing signal loss. Hope you find my reply useful. I noticed one thing is that each ringer looses its batter power quite quickly.🤷🏽
