Very well made item and excellent quality
The pasta maker is very well made, and easy to use. It comes with all the instructions and also the recommended recipe for pasta making. Also included is a pasta drying gadget which is very useful. Super delighted with this nifty and good quality item. Highly recommended (we actually bought 2 units cos my mother-in-law liked our 1 so much that we ended up gifting it to her)

Difficult to clean
Bought this on the strength of the reviews, but missed the bit that said you can't wash it. Instructions say initially clean it, (before use), by putting some dough through, but after that you do what? Use the brush I suppose. I didn't like the idea of not being able to wash it. I had dismissed other machines because many developed rust on the rollers, probably caused by naughty people washing them. At least the instructions with this machine did warn not to wash it.I am not a connoisseur of pasta machines, so this may be a normal thing. Not a connoisseur of pasta making either, so I would be sure to get bits stuck in the machine. I thought stainless steel didn't rust? So either the machine is not stainless steel, or I'm wrong about stainless steel not rusting. Either way, I would prefer to be able to dismantle and wash it than fiddle about trying to fish odd bits of dough out of the works with a brush. Also, the knob for adjusting the rollers has to be pulled out at the same time as turning it, which is very awkward, and it tends to not work unless you keep it exactly straight and parallel to the body of the machine. (While pulling and turning). The dryer gadget, no doubt vey handy, has no instructions that I could see, and it took me about a half an hour to figure out how to set it up without it repeatedly collapsing in a heap of plastic rods. Again, maybe due to my lack of familiarity with pasta machines/accessories, but maddening none the less.By this time, mostly due to the cleaning issue and the wonky knob, I had decided to return it. But repacking it in the small box was like a nightmare jigsaw puzzle. It seems to be one of those items which doubles in size as soon as you unpack it.It is a sturdy machine, well made, quite stylish, and lacking the sharp edges which seem to plague other machines. It also has some weight to it, so together with the clamp, would presumably be reasonably easy to use without it moving about. There is also a little plastic gadget which at first looks like a receptacle for false teeth, but I think is a ravioli press. But these positives do not outweigh the negatives for me. Maybe washing a pasta machine is not the done thing, but it put me off.

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday. She loves it, and is having a great time, mastering the art of home made pasta. It comes with an array of attachements and stand to dry pasta on. Good and sturdy
