My teen loves this tiny controller. He pointed out that it doesn't have all the same controls as the two Joy-cons together, but it's perfectly fine for any game where you only need one Joy-con to play. He loves it so much, he sometimes carries it around as a fidget toy. It really is adorable.

Absolutely in love with this cute mini. I love it most because I can play my Apple Arcade games with one hand while also being able to make use of my other hand, e.g., using my phone, tv remote, fork/spoon, etc. It even has a little strap to wrap around your wrist for easier control. Very convenient and extremely cute. I just got another as a Christmas for my friend. She saw me using it and thought it was just as cute as I did.The onlyyyyy downside is that pairing the controller can be quite a challenge. You really need to keep the instructions nearby as there are different instructions for different device brands. And switching between devices, e.g., from tv to iPad, is very difficult. I got tired of the hassle so I just set up everything so that I only use it with my iPad and don’t have to worry about switching devices.Overall, highly recommend this controller.

I've been using the 8Bitdo Zero 2 daily for over three years as a medical student, and it has been fantastic! Setting it up and configuring it with Anki was quick and easy. It's been reliable and has worked flawlessly throughout my studies. If you're looking for a small, dependable controller for Anki or other tasks, I highly recommend it!

Short take: Great device for reviewing flashcards for students, despite setup and configuration not being the most intuitive. Easily beats out more expensive competition if price is any component of your decision because what you get for the price just can't be beat.Thoughts and criticisms:I bought this to use as a remote for reviewing my flashcards for medical school (we're talking thousands, typically with hundreds per day) and I use it primarily with Anki. Sometimes I switch between using my computer app and my phone all (cast to my TV). It may not be explicit to all, but you need to press a different button to connect it to different systems (Windows v Apple v Android, etc). If you threw away your instructions and forgot, you can look on the back for a reminder if you plan to switch what type of system you use this device with. I feel this product is well worth the price, but this information wasn't intuitive for all users - as I had to support one of my colleagues in learning how to switch this info.Mapping the buttons could be made easier. It isn't explicitly stated which buttons on the device correspond with what input when assigning keys. That being said, if you look carefully in whatever program you are using to assign keys, if you press the key on the physical device, you should see the corresponding assignment light up and you can write these down. It would be useful to have information come with the device on this process.On android use:I've noticed most of my classmates that had something similar had iPhone/Mac and could download a program to map the buttons, but this option is not available on windows or android and you have to use something different. For windows, I downloaded JoyToKey. There are other options, but many of them have a learning curve to comprehend how to map out the keys and this wasn't worth the time for me.Certainly would buy this device again and will be recommending it to new students. Just would love if the developer made the instructions more clear.

Okay, let's be for real. I just needed this for ANKI. I am studying medicine, and I was not in the market for something expensive. This remote is just what I needed, to go through several flash cards daily with my ADHD, and frankly, being able to go to the next card, and hit all the buttons that Anki needs to help me refresh the information with its intuitive software (Try again, hard, good, easy) is great.Pros:-Can use it with a standing desk-Can use it for ANKI-It frees up your hands so you do not have to click through ANKI tediously.-Gives you faster dopamine whenever you get a question right.-Great for muscle memory, and frankly, fidgeting as you get to press buttons for that sweet dopamine.Cons:-Mind-numbing to set the keys mapping-Use JoyToKey App recommended by a buyer back in 2023. Thanks, Grace, you saved my bacon and frankly my sanity.-You have to use a YouTube video to set it up, I would recommend "HOW TO: Anki remote for dummies (VERY DETAILED)" by Kristen Williams. Follow through and it shouldn't take long. I just had to suffer because I didn't know the Windows equivalent to the key mapping program in MacOS/Apple and it took 5 programs and coming back to the reviews to Find JoyToKey Recommendation.Other than that, I like it so far, if there's something I would change, or if it dies on me before the year's end, I'll come back to review further, but If I haven't assume it's still suffering through medicine along with me. I ordered one and it paired but none of the buttons worked. I returned it and got a replacement. This one would pair and the buttons worked, but the reprogramming did not work, making it useless. No customer support available.
