These are great sandals, SO much more comfortable than standard flip-flops. I think it's the arch support combined with how well the top strap holds. I could never go back to flat flops.They are well made, but not indestructible, the toe thong will break eventually, this is my second pair of this exact model and 3rd Reef shoe overall.All eventually broke at the toe, but last enough years to be worth the cost IMO.

I have had multiple pairs of Reef sandals prior to purchasing these, and have never had an issue with them. To begin with, the size (despite being the same size that I always order) was a little on the small side, as my toes managed to hang over the edge. But that isn't my biggest concern. My biggest concern comes from the fact that my sandals have completely destroyed themselves in less than a few weeks after receiving them. The soles have become completely unglued from the rest of the shoe, and the rubber section (where the foot actually rests) has shrunk by a few inches at least compared to its original size. This happened because my shoes were left outside, just as I have done with all of my sandals before these. I've barely worn them outside of my backyard, so this is definitely not a result of overuse (and seeing that my other pairs usually lasted me 2+ years, I doubt that's even possible in such a short amount of time) I'm not sure if Amazon supplied me with some sort of counterfeit Reefs, or if the quality in these sandals has drastically fallen. I will certainly be hesitant to order another pair of Reef sandals, despite having enjoyed many pairs before, seeing as these were nothing more than a waste of money. If you are planning on using these in any kind of environment where they may encounter heat (such as the beach, which you would expect a sandal should be able to handle....), be aware that you will most likely be shopping for a new pair of sandals soon enough.

I normally regret 99% percent of the decisions I make when I'm drunk. I accidentally ordered these when I was. My old pair of reefs broke a few weeks ago (different model, but they lasted for three years) and I was walking to the pool barefoot. I said "I really need a new pair of reefs", so I bought these on the Amazon app with the One-Click Buy-Now button. I normally wouldn't spend quite $60 on a pair of flip flops and I regretted placing the order the next morning when I sobered up. However, now that they've arrived and I've been wearing them all evening, I'm glad I got another pair of Reefs. The quality is great and I'm sure they will hold up just like my last pair. I went half a size smaller because I was drunk as well, I normally wear a 11.5 and the 11M fits better actually in these.

When I first researched these I was unsure how they would fit compared to shoe sizes and while I normally wear a 10~11 (depending on the shoe brand) I went with the 10 instead of rounding up to the 11 as most people recommend because 11s were out of stock at the time. When I initially received them the straps were way too tight but the otherwise were spot on the right size and comfortable. I originally considered returning them because of the tight strap issue but instead I decided to see if they would just break in a little. Honestly it was mainly just because I was leaving on vacation in a couple of days and needed sandals, and my only other option was those the thin foam ones, which I cannot stand. But much to my pleasant surprise after wearing them for a few hours they loosened up a bit and are now by far the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. I don't wear sandals that often so I have no doubt that I am going to own these for a very long time.Also the Bottle opener came in surprisingly handy while on vacation.

Really disappointed with this pair of flip flops. I had an older pair of reef sandals that I’ve owned for a couple of years. They were starting to show their age so I thought why not get a new set. I ordered these December 18th. Within three months the toe began to separate. Color me very disappointed ☹️

the previous style had a different material between the toes (circled in green) that was more comfortable and also helped the sandal fit better. The sandals in the picture are the style I had bought before but they sent a different (circled in red) style that fits much loser similar to cheaper sandals. I will return and purchase something else from a store.

I like mine a little loose. I wear 11/11.5 shoes depending on style and buy these in a 12. They take about two days for the straps to loosen but are NEVER uncomfortable. These are my fourth pair of Reef's and they still feel like the first pair. Great arch support (I have planar fasciitis and need arch support, these have it) wonderful cushioning without being soft. Just buy any type of Reef's and you won't be disappointed.

If you live in an area where you will wear flip flops frequently, this is the way to go. Sure - they are a bit more expensive, but well worth the money for daily use.So the other day I was tidying up and noticed my husband's shoes had several holes. I informed him of this fact and he said that he "knew". Sigh. I threw them out and ordered these.He reports:1. Very comfortable. They have extra padding in the back composed of a rubber sole. This is nice to have in a flip flop and hopefully will prevent holes in the future.2. Fit perfectly. My husband wears a size 13, which is what I ordered. Fit like a glove. Phew.3. Water resistant. This is good since we live in Florida. It rains every day. And there are several pools and oceans. Win-win.4. There is a freaking bottle opener on the bottom of the shoe. Enough said.Great buy - and I expect these to last quite a while.

I've never really found flip flops comfortable but then someone recommended I try Reef Phantoms and I was amazed. I've clocked up maybe more than a hundred miles walking and exploring on holiday wearing the Phantoms and never had any trouble. Then I found out Reef produce a premium flip flop, at a considerable increase in price, but what the heck, they must be even better, right?If you like having your feet cut to pieces, then buy the Fanning Sandals; 3 razor-type cuts on one foot and 4 on the other. And that was only after a 2 mile walk. The straps have a rough, sharp edge on the inside and as you walk they get to work cutting through layers of skin. Both feet were covered in cuts and one toe had a layer of skin scrapped off. Oh, and that built-in bottle opener in the sole; it is brilliant at scooping up muck and worse as you walk - would you want to open a bottle with that?Normally I would have sent these straight back but unfortunately there was a year between me buying these, the old Phantoms wearing out completely and me taking the replacements on holiday.How can a company get the cheaper pair of flip flops so right and yet completely mess up their premium product?Avoid.

Brilliant quality. I'm a size 11, usually with a wide fit. But these were hanging an inch past my heel and the foot strap was too loose in size 11. Bought size 10 now and they fit nicely. So my advice would be to buy a size smaller.

The only comfortable flip flop with air suspension. Expensive but worth it. Bottle opener suprising useful. Don’t step in poo

I cant even remember how i first discovered Reef Fanning flip flops, but after testing my memory i figured that i bought my first pair 15-17 years ago! My early pairs did not have the bottle opener on the bottom, and if i had the choice, i would definitely prefer a pair without this ridiculous gimmick. As other reviewers have mentioned, if you are unfortunate enough to stand in dog poo, good luck trying to remove it from around the bottle opener!That however, is my only negative. Reef have always fitted me and felt fantastic to wear, regardless of how far I’m walking. The air cushion under the heel is fantastic, and having just replaced the last pair which i have owned for at least five years, i immediately felt the difference as soon as i put the new pair on. I take size 9 in all shoes, but have always gone for a UK size 8 in these flip flops. My toes and heels are at the edge, but that is personal preference and always felt most comfortable.The build quality is very high, as you would hope and expect for the price. I have never had any issues with any rubbing between my toes - they do ‘give’ a little once you’ve worn them a while - i wear mine all year around the house and barely take them off during any warm weather. I have no hesitation in recommending these as an excellent pair of flip flops which will last years and years and will probably only need replacing when, like me, you realise that the cushioning is probably not as good as it used to be!

I usually wear an 8, and I could probably have got away with a 7 in these. Not uncomfortably big though.The bottle opener is a pointless gimmick (who want's to put the mouth of their beer bottle anywhere near what the soles of their feet have been treading in?) It's more likely just to scratch floors than provide any use

I really like reef flip flops as i've had a pair before that were excellent. These were a different model to my previous pair and i found them to be quite large (i take a 10). Due to excess movement they really rubbed between my toes meaning that after two days i couldn't wear them any more and had to by a cheap pair on holiday. They look great though, and if i was to buy again id purchase a size smaller.

Complete disaster; the sandals that arrived were nothing like the picture or description. What I received was a pair of light, all rubber flip flops with thin, completely flat soles + no bottle opener as described. Had to return at great expense, just hope I get the full refund promised including P+P!Further to the above review I have not received my refund; every time I checked, the message was that I would be refunded once the returned item was received. The new message now states that the return period has timed out, so I am now £41 out of pocket if you include the cost of postage. Not happy + will not be using Amazon US again!

These have the potential to be the best thong flip flops on the market. They are incredibly comfortable other than there is a piece of metal right in the middle for a bottle opener. Why?!?! Why would anyone want a bottle opener on a nice pair of flip flops?! You can feel the metal pushing into your foot which takes away the effort that has gone into these to make them comfortable.Such a shame. If the bottle opener is removed, I would certainly buy them but due to the bottle opener, I had to return them.

Had a pair of these for several years, really comfy and hard wearing. on a recent family holiday my son (a veteran of 2 years backpacking in Oz) borrowed them and loved them. Fortunately he gave them back to so i did the decent thing and ordered these for his birthday. Design not quite the same but otherwise excellent fit and feel from my initial try on. May have to buy another pair to put away for when mine, eventually, give up the ghost.

Second pair I have bought for my husband he wore the last pair away. Went for this design to help with cushioning his knee after a operation last year. Always a little snug to start, recommend you start wearing them in before your holiday.Other than that perfect - a must buy

I was a bit underwhelmed when these arrived. Based on the good reviews I was expecting the flip flop mecca, but they are OK. Nothing to boast about and not as comfortable as I was hoping or led to believe they would be. Two days of wearing them and the decal on the sole fell apart. I think these are good, but certainly not the best flip flop out there. I had a pair of animal flips before these and I got 10 years out of them, sheer comfort and durability.

Super comfortable flip flops that don't fall apart like many others do. They don't mind getting wet either. Still wear all 4 pairs that I have. Love them, and will keep on buying them. Bottle opener in the sole has raised some queries, but I know that if I need one, I've always got one!

I love these sandals, with a gel heal and the very handy bottle opener built in they are the only sandal for me, this is the second pair I've bought, the last ones lasted about 10 years.I highly recommend these to anyone, people always seemed to be impressed when I crack open a beer bottle using my footwear!

This is my 2nd pair of these as our new puppy chewed my first pair. They had lasted 2 years and were still (almost) as good as new, despite daily wearing in the summer months. Very comfortable right out of the package, hard-wearing, stylish...I highly recommend these.I will, needless to say, be keeping my new pair away from my cheeky pup!

Great quality and nice rich colour but too small so have ordered the next size up. Fingers crossed they fit. Reefs are the most comfortable flips flops on the market ( in my opinion ) they are great for anyone who doesn't feel comfortable wearing anything between their toes. The fabric part that fits between the big and second toe does not cause friction or blisters.
