Great back support... (with modifications).
The seat is easy to install and provides excellent support for mid/upper back, but rear straps are positioned such that the bottom of the seat shifts forward when leaning back against the seat back... allowing entire seat back to lean backward... even when rear attachment straps are cinched as tightly as possible. My fix for this was to cut small slits in spar pockets to run additional straps around the fiberglass spars and then around buckles for rear attachment to kayak deck. These additional straps hold the spars back and do not allow bottom of seat back to slide forward at all, which in turn prevents the seat back from leaning backwards... resulting in much better (and more comfortable) back support. (photos show initial trial of this “fix” using large zip ties). So it is a “very good” seat that after simple modification, became a “very great” seat! 👍🏻

Very comfortable
I used this seat with my yak for the first time today and it performed very well! I’m a big guy and was worried about the back holding me up but it wasn’t an issue at all. I also bought the gel seat to go with it but didn’t need it in the time I fished, which was around 3 hrs. I would definitely buy this seat if you’re looking for one!

GREAT SEAT
Great seat. I believe after having used several different seats this seat is the best. Excellent workmanship, quality material, easy to adjust,.extremely comfortable, especially the gel seat.

And the winner is....Skwoosh!
I tested out 3 seats in search of a proper replacement for the worn out/torn straps of my old Ocean Kayak seats. The overall winner for comfort and support was this high back one by Skwoosh. The gel seat was by far the most comfortable compared to others at this price point, BUT... I still feel they could have made it just a half inch thicker for an "off the chart" comfort experience on the bum! (Thus the reason for only 4 stars.) It's disappointingly thin, but does cushion better than I thought it would at first glance. Having the high back is a new thing for me and I'm loving that upgrade!
