But time & products being avaliable throughout the world makes it possible to safely order items from other Countries I have alr
Being born in Australia in 1940 I was raised on Vegemite.Married & raised my family in the USAwith my Husband of 50 yrs. Marmite was always easier to purchase in parts of the USA.But time & products being avaliable throughout the world makes it possible to safelyorder items from other Countries I have already used 1 jar & a half so I will be aHappy customer. As you can see from the amount used I love my Vegemite.77 yrs old & reminds me of my childhood through 21 yrs old.. Nancy Christensen

An acquired taste
The entertainment value of this product makes it worth more than the money I paid for it. This is my story as an American midwesterner trying Vegamite..My preteen son got hooked on the Men At Work song "Down Under". He begged and begged for Vegamite. I finally gave in and ordered it as part of our monthly international food night. The look on his face after the first bite of his vegamite sandwich (eaten while listening to the song) was priceless! He thought it was the worst food ever created.I tried it and didn't hate it. I also occasionally drink beer so yeasty flavors don't bother me. It's an acquired taste. I'll finish the jar before it goes bad. I encourage the curious to try it!

Sadness
The safety seal/cap wasnt on properly when I received it. So when I was eating it on toast (first time ever trying it) I couldn't stop wondering "is it supposed to taste like this or am I eating poison" bc the tamper proof seal had popped off. Idk how that could have happened, but it did. Maybe I'm stupid for still eating it but it didn't seem like it had been tampered with, it just seemed like a very odd occurrence. Either way, it was a big drag. I wanted to try it bc the IIconics from WWE said they like it. Now I'm not comfortable purchasing it on Amazon again. I'd try finding it in a store (but good luck cos I couldn't find it anywhere)

A New Flavor for ME
I saw this on a Aussie cooking program. Ordered it and tried it. I really like the flavor.I have used it in soups, pasta dishes and even in sauces for meat dishes. If I am making something that needs a little more flavor this seems to do the trick. It's going to bein my kitchen from now on. Good stuff!!

Be A Little Adventuresome
I'm not from Australia where Vegemite is so popular but I heard the song "Down Under" and always wondered what Vegemite was. I found out that its a yeast product made from the process of beer brewing. What I was intrigued about is that it is vegetarian but with a beef flavor. I ordered it through Amazon's Marketplace and here it came all the way from Britain. I spread some on a piece of bread and decided immediately that it was an acquired taste, but then again after a few days I found myself using it fairly often especially on crackers. Well, my wife started putting it in soups and that really cinched my love for it. It's very good for you and a new taste sensation to try if you like being a little adventuresome.

friday
This is a wonderful product if you like a different taste on your toast etc.I have grown up with this product, my Mom was from Australia & she brought some with her when she came to AMERICA, to Marry my Dad. It does have a strong taste, Keep trying it if you want to, you might end up liking it.

An American that loves it
Not being Australian and never having tasted or smelled this before... At first I was like Omg, this tastes like meat! Bluh! But now I guess I've acquired the taste for it. Just a little on my toast in the mornings and I find myself looking forward to it. I feel better in the mornings, too! Glad I tried it

Too much spoils the flavor
I love the 'mites'. Vegemite, marmite and promite. Vegemite is an acquired taste, so it's not something I recommend trying unles you know what you're in for. It's a beer by-product and it's loaded with vitamin Bs, totally vegetarian and great on toast. If you like sweet and salty things, I recommend trying it on cinnamon raisen toast, or even pikelets or scones, if you're game. Some people use it to add flavor to casseroles and for an added vitamin boost, I'm sure it would be great. The product was just the same as I would purchase in a New Zealand store (even though it's Australian). Would I recommend it? I did mention that it's an acquired taste right? Go easy spreading it on your toast. A thick coating is not recommended. So, if you can't find it locally, yes buy it here. It's cheaper if you can find an international food store and save on the shipping.
