Great Book!
Very cool even though it's an older novel, the book has great twists and turns. Definitely a fun read.

Important story that stands of time.
This is a classic story of man's inhumanity to man. While the writing is somewhat dense, this novel provides much context for understanding Irish histor

Amazingly written!
Leon Uris is One of my favorite authors. Trinity was the first book I read by him and it holds a special place in my heart. If you want to understand the troubles in Ireland, this is the book to read. You care about the people you love them you hate them and all the characters have amazing death. This was the 10th time I've read this book and I always find something new. It's a long read but there's no frivolous parts of the book highly recommend reading this. I bought this book used, and it was in excellent condition.

Overall a good book
Overall a good historical fiction book that helps you understand what is was like to be Irish Catholic in the mid 1800's to early 1900's and why they needed to rise up in order to free themselves from the British and Protestants. It may change forever the way you feel about the English, wealthy and the church. The authors level of bias did loosen up about halfway through the book. At 890 pages is could have been slimmed down by getting rid of the excessive fluff at times. An interesting way to learn Irish history.

With England as an ally, much of the truth about Ireland has been kept from our media, However, this
book is the beginning of a TRUE understanding of why things have happened in Ireland, England and Scotland. Leon Uris weaves his characters well, but there is much truth in every story. Some of it is just finite details, that no one can refute. There was never a problem between the Prods and the Paps, until England moved in Scottish Papists and gave them land and home, in Ireland, if they would swear to be Protestant. Many were doomed to death by starvation, or homelessness due to high English land lease prices, so Ireland seemed a safe get away, and they turned what once were two strong, loving and revering countries into a mishmash of English trickery. Charles Stewart and all the Highlanders from Scotland tried to stop much of this, but anyway, read the book. It is an epic, sweeping, beautifully written, and colorful story of the reality of Ireland's troubles, and the love story of a Pap and a Prod, and the rich history makes for a real "my nose isn't coming out of this book until I am done" experience. I have read this several times, it really makes me understand the Irish in our family tree line, and why certain things are how they are, our ancestors lived this, so I want to understand it. My grandmother, aged 105 gave me a lot of information, and I am 43 now, and have been encouraging my children to know their history. My grandmother, even with a college degree, was turned down for bing Black Irish, they didn't care about the rest of her lineage, IRISH NEED NOT APPLY. So, she got on with a newspaper and was the first woman reporter in a plane in the Midwest. Read this book, if you have not. You will understand why I have no orange in my home, and why no claddaugh ring should have a crown on it, unless you defer to an English rule.. It is super to really feel how THE TROUBLES before and after, were.

Hard read
As a catholic born Irish descendant. Now attending a episcopal church (Anglican) have to think hard about my knowledge from my ancestors. Immigrants from the 1860s . Have records of my grand father arriving at Ellis island as a babe in arms.A strong book to say the least, well written .Enjoyable, not hardly, (hard to put it down, so that’s a yes) thought provoking, yes. it will be with me for a little while, I. Am 85.

A book and history for the ages
Has there ever been a people more subjugated than the Irish and still maintained their dignity? I think not Erin go bragh. English have been heathens for centuries

I look forward to reading this book as highly recommended to me
I look forward to reading this book as highly recommended to me. My copy cost just over £4 and is clearly quite old (say 35 to 40 years) as pages very yellow with aging of the cover; but I do not mind this because of the cheap cost; in fact I think it adds character to it and is from around the time it was first published.
