Just like described. When I received and unboxed these, I wasn't sure they'd do the job. But they do. They haven't slid or anything. And they are cute. I'd buy again.

I like these sturdy bookends. Besides their cheery red color and the fun look of a London phonebox, the metal tongue/part that goes under the books is just 4" long. Other brands of "heavy duty" book ends have 6+" tongues that make it really difficult to dislodge books from - esp on higher shelves. These are perfect.

I have a passion for English history, and recently purchase numerous books related to the subject. I put them on the shelves on my desk, but I didn't have anything to keep them up. These phone booth style bookends work perfect and fit the English theme. They are the perfect thickness for my needs and don't stick out far so I have enough space to keep my collection going.Also, my husband pointed out that they could also be considered Dr. Who themed, so anyone interested in that could consider these for their collection as well.

These are very sturdy and are at a 90 degree angle. I have ordered other decorative bookends in the past that were not and the books were always at a weird angle. They have soft feet to protect surfaces and they look good.

Pretty Cool and sturdy

My collection of books is considerable and I like to keep them neat and orderly. Book ends must be strong enough to hold big books without being so heavy that you can't lift them to place them. These are the perfect combination of both of these requirements. Simple in design, but if you're a Dr. Who fan they are super special. The price was very good and I am very happy with the job they do with even my larger books. They come in red too and those are super fun!

I loved them! I have been watching Doctor Who, so they reminded me about the show. They look so cute and hold the books.
