... climbing and box jumps and for this they are great. What brings my rating down is the quality ...
I purchased these shin guards mainly for rope climbing and box jumps and for this they are great. What brings my rating down is the quality of the zippers. The zippers are small and weak. Iโve wore these guards maybe 6-8 times and one zipper does not workโฆ maybe not a big dealโฆ does not seem to get in the way of my workouts but for $50.00 for the medium size I want something that holds up to my simple requirementsโฆ protect against rope burns and box crashes, pretty simple. These shin guards have been hand washed and hung to dry after my workouts.I do like the silicon inside the uppers; the guards stay in place. Wish the silly logos were smaller or gone, but all guards I looked into had over the top logos plastered all over.My calves are 15.5" at maximum = the medium fit perfect.

Great shin guards
I really like these shin guards. They're a good, solid thickness in front and a thinner more breathable material in back. The strong upper elastic keeps them in place all day. My only complaint is the little side zipper at the bottom opening. The lower opening is a little small and to relieve some of this, there's a small zipper to open it up when you put it on and zip it back once you're all set. The zipper itself can get a little irritating on your ankle and even open, the foot hole is still a bit small. This is a minor issue and overall, this is a quality product that does exactly what you want it to do.

Great product. For some reason
Great product. For some reason, I bleed from the shins every time I deadlift, clean or snatch. My shins look like I'm one of those martial arts monks teaching their bones to be unbreakable. Wore these today for the first time while deadlifting and cleaning. No blood at all. Very comfortable. Easy to forget you have them on. Just enough padding that your shins stay comfortable but not so much that you can't feel the bar. I can't think of a single way to improve them.

Rope climb protection, and expected results for other workouts that threaten the well being of your shins.
I am waiting to see how the durability is before giving 5 stars, but it definitely gets a strong 4/5.Durability (N/A):Still too early to tell. I will try and provide an update once I get some long term use out of them.Functionality 4/5:I bought these to protect my shins from rope burns during rope climbs. Prior to the Bear Grips I had used knee braces around my lower shins to try and protect them. At about 10 rope climbs I still got some burns which took a week to heal afterwards.Recently I completed the same number of rope climbs, but with the Bear Grips. During the workout at one point I did feel some heat come through, and was worried that I may have just wasted my money. After a few days however no signs of rope burn surfaced. These things did the job. As noted however, I haven't had the chance to use these a lot. I am curious as to how the outer material will hold up against several sessions of rope climbs, and bar scrapes from dead-lifts and various other oly-lifts.I have also been the victim of shin strikes during box jumps, and I imagine that while I would still have some serious bruising should this happen with these on, I wouldn't end up with divots of skin gouged out. With any luck, more like proper scaling, I will never be able to review these for shin strikes.Comfort 5/5:Light weight and comfortable. They do not negatively impact my workouts.Suggested improvements:- Adding a layer of a higher density material to help distribute the pressure from any strikes, this layer would also prevent the heat from ropes climbs from getting through.Overall, I would highly recommend them to others.

Love ๐๐๐๐๐๐
I absolutely love these. These are soft and cushion-y perfect for deadlifting and not hurti my my shins when box jumping. I'm a small female. 5ft4 130ish lbs. Deadlifting 250lbs means an accidental knock on the shins hurts and bleeds. Well this solved my problem. Perfect amount of protection. And light weight.

Excellent Protection but Very Warm
I'm tall with long legs and when lifting from the floor, it's pretty common to graze my shins with the bar. They were getting very barked up and I was kind of sick of having to clean blood off the bar after lifting. So, I did some searching and found these. What a difference. I haven't scraped my shins in forever. These provide just enough protection. They don't interfere with my lifts in any way. In fact, you'd never know you had them on except for one thing. They're quite warm. I regularly make them soggy with sweat. Since my goal is protecting my shins, I'm very happy (hence 5 stars) but you should know, you will be sweating a lot more while wearing these.

Protected shins while it lasted...
Bought these for the sole reasons of protecting my shins when deadlifting and it does the job well. Haven't had issues with the product yet.Update (3/5/2017):After about 3-4 months of use (deadlifting), the guards wore out and there's a rip/hole in the shin area. Disappointed with the quality.
