Preliminaries: Unfortunately Amazon will aggregate book reviews of different editions of the same title together. You can never really be sure if the review your are reading is for the listing you are looking at or some other edition of the same title. This is important because not all Kindle editions of a title are edited with the same care. One edition could be flawless, while another could be a disaster. This review is for the The Book of Thoth: Egyptian Tarot, ASIN: B07ZYDD7QG Publisher: Alicia Editions (November 1, 2019). Currently there is only one listing or edition of this book title for Kindle. In the event there are other editions of this title listed on Amazon and the reviews are combined this review is for the listing published by Alicia Editions ASIN: B07ZYDD7QG.The Review: I will not review the text of this book. If you are familiar with the author and the subject material you will already know the value of this book and what you are getting into. I will review this edition. This edition is fantastic. Just a few examples there is a linked table of contents, bulleted list line up correctly, and long quotations in free-standing blocks are formatted correctly. Of typos, missing text, dropped letters, words jammed together without spaces I have not found any. If I find them in any concerning number I will revisit this review. Hopefully Alicia Editions will publish more titles. I just wish you could click on the publisher’s name to see all their titles.

This review is for the kindle version of "The Book of Thoth: Egyptian Tarot", by Publisher: Alicia EditionsThis is the text of the book only, there are none of the diagrams or illustrations. This makes it very difficult...no it makes it impossible to follow much of what Crowley is referring to when he says to consult the diagrams. Unfortunately I left my hard copy of the book at my office before lockdown so I was hoping to substitute with this kindle version for book club...guess I'll have to just order another hard copy....

This book is a good start for anyone wanting to update themselves with ancient wisdom, remember all truths are the same, this book compiles many essays on philosophical and symbolic relations to numbers, astronomy and myth. This book has many small portions of history and uses divine names and vocabulary that I find interesting to learn. There is a lot of information in this book and I would encourage anyone studying history, myth, symbolism and spiritual alchemy to get it!Best,

This review is for the recent release of the Hardcover edition published by Red Wheel/Weiser.As stated in the copyright page, "This facsimile edition published in 2017 by Weiser Books, an imprint of Red Wheel/Weiser." The first edition of this book was published in 1969 by Kashmarin Press/Shambala in a limited hardcover edition. Then, subsequently, in the same year by Samuel Weiser, the difference being was colored plates were added.This edition is much high in its quality, with the paper being a thick and glossy. All original color plates are present. Boards are the same color as the original Weiser, as well the dust jacket cover, with the exception of the binding having a slightly different design. Outside of that, the overall size is slightly smaller than the original.The book itself is very nicely put together, and a great piece, especially if you don't have a version of it. If you have the paperback or an older hardcover edition, this is not a must have, but would be primarily for collectible sake, as there is nothing new to this edition. I appreciate the homage they paid to Crowley and this book, and even to the original company, Samuel Weiser, however, nothing in this book that is original to this edition makes it just a nice, but expensive, version. Almost as much as some of the original hardcover editions. If it were a limited edition or something to that effect, it would at least prove to be a collectible edition, but that is not the case here.So in sum, its a great edition, and the book itself is in any edition is a must read, however, this particular edition is purely for collectible purposes.

I was ignorant of the term Facsimile edition. I understand this to be a reproduction of the original, and indeed it seems to be (my first copy I bought in the eighties/sadly lost that edition) I had not realized that the paper that the words are printed on, are not a reproduction per se, but rather it is modern and glossy. I would have liked it to be a more natural paper. But at least it won't fall apart as the paperback does. The words are the same, and it is after all a handbook, so for me it is perfect. As a book for the shelf to be looked at it is what it is. Shiny paper or not, the words are the same, the pictures are true, it is a great reference book and I am happy with the purchase.Be every act a source of radiant glory. (^__^)

I was very dissapointed to discover that the entire book is printed on nasty 'magazine' type paper. It makes the book feel cheap and tacky. I have no idea why they chose to do that. Usually that type paper is only used for photos, not for an entire book. I can only say that I'll be much more careful in the future ordering anything from 'Weiser Books' . They used to be a great company but since changing hands I am guessing this is the result. Oh well. They ruined a perfectly good book. Personally I'd prefer the old paperback any day to this. In fact I will be ordering it again and probably try to sell this copy.

If you are studying or reading tarot with the Thoth deck, then this will be an education for sure. I love to read all the intricacies, the thought processes being each card! Highly recommend

If you are interested in the Tarot, this is the best book you can buy! It has kept me enthralled for years. This edition is the best you can get, beautifully produced it's a pleasure to read.
