They can bend if you don’t insert properly.But that was user error. Took me a couple tries to figure out that you slide them into the shoot in the button needle- not just placing them in the groove.

The clips worked perfectly and helped me fix the button that fell out of my tufted sofa.

Had to force learn how to repair our furniture after we are out of warranty and seller does not want to help us out.
