Being winter now, I haven't had the opportunity to use the hat extensively, but it looks good so far. It arrived promptly in good condition. It is very light weight and the material seems to be breathable. Assuming that the material is actually SPF 50, as claimed, it will provide excellent protection for the face, neck, and ears. I only gave it four stars instead of five because there is no sort of built in pouch in which to store the removable neck flap. The neck flap and face mask can be tucked up into the top of the hat, however, and the hat still looks more or less normal. Although the "one size fits most" fits my average sized head fine, the sizing band in the back seems to have very little play in it, so people with larger or smaller heads may not be happy with the fit.

I bought this for my husband who spends all day gardening ever since we retired. He developed basal skin carcinoma on his right ear and underwent surgery last year. I got this item since it has added protection for the face since treatment of his face for precancerous cells after the procedure indicated the presence of a lot of precancerous cells on his nose and cheeks despite his wearing two similar hats without a face protector. I gave it 4 stars thus far since he has only used it a few times since it arrived and we won’t know whether it will help lessen the effect of uv rays on his skin until he has used it for 6-12 months.

I will actually be wearing this everyday on a blue water sail boat and this sunhat promises to be incredibly versatile. The shade flaps will efficiently cover as much or as little as I need. The light weight fabric is comfortable and cool as well as fast drying if/when it gets wet.The only criticism is that the fabric tab at the back should have a piece of velcro to keep it in place when it is under tension to keep the cap slightly smaller.

The brim doesn't fold in a high wind and the hat fits my small head pretty well and stays on. The "cape" provides some protection from wind and sun and can be configured so that it doesn't flap in the face. The face mask is easy to breath thru but drops in front of the eyes when I bend down. The holding strap, cape and mask can be used with the hat in several ways and can be removed or just mushed into the hat. The cape doesn't stay exactly in place, of course, so don't rely on it as your only protection. All the parts seem sturdy and the hat is a great value. I've paid much more for hats that delivered much less. Best hat yet for the Texas Panhandle's wind and sun.

Haven't worn the hat yet - will have to do some stitching to prevent neck flaps to fly open with tailwind.With just one more snap button, the hat could be used without face mask but with the same effect.The color is not khaki though but some strange shade of yellow.

Update: fast response from the owner on a resolution. A+. Keep it up. Feels very secure with the strap. Strong build quality.+1 starA little shallow. Does not fit secure on head like a baseball cap would. Reason for the -1 star is because missing strap that helps hold the hat to your head is missing. That strap is a must just because wind can blow it off.

Very versatile, plenty of shade...a bit hot and stuffy when it feels light, but when it’s on full coverage you don’t get to much air flow under neath I felt like I was more hot with it on but love the coverage just wished it had more ventilation or something...

Looks like image, but quality of material used lower than expected. Will do the job, but likely to suffer from wear and tear relatively quickly. Definitely not the most stylish hat I've ever worn.
