You get what you pay for
This alarm is great for simply waking you up to an intrusion. It is incredibly loud and there is simply no way you will sleep through it. That's where the first problem comes in though, it is WAY too loud for an apartment use! If I accidentally trip the alarm by forgetting to disarm it before opening my door, there is no doubt every single one of my neighbors hear the alarm blaring. There is no volume adjustment for it whatsoever, so I resorted to stuffing the alarm with a sock and wrapping it in a beanie to muffle it. That said, this thing WILL wake you up.The second problem is the adhesive that comes with the alarm. While it was very quick and easy to set up, the adhesive was not strong enough to hold the detector in place long term. This issue came to light when I was awoken at 3AM to a blaring alarm, grabbed my gun and slowly entered my living room only to find the detector had fallen down. Surely my neighbors woke up as well. As you can imagine, if this was a real invasion, I would feel secure that I would be awoken to the threat.The quality is a mixed bag. The alarm housing is metal & the inside plastic, as is expected. The detectors are of fine quality, but again, I highly recommend against using the included adhesive.Overall, the alarm does work & provide security to your property. But its numerous shortcomings might potentially deter you, and if they don't, at least consider getting some better adhesive tape & find a way to muffle the alarm a bit unless it won't be an issue.
