If it wasn't for the jewels
It wasn’t that I presumed that I was going to get lucky the other night on my date. I didn’t do it because I felt confident that I would. My thought was, wouldn’t it be nice to surprise her with all of my smooth bits & pieces if the opportunity does arise. On any typical day, I prefer to shave with a double edge blade, a cup of soap and a badger brush. I had, however, just recently purchased a new Panasonic Arc4 electric razor for convenience sake and also for future travel purposes. (It’s a finely crafted razor btw for those who are in the market for an electric device) I remember reading and listening to all of the glowing reviews about this razor and what a smooth and close shave it will provide. Thinking back upon all of those sensational reviews now, I don’t recall anyone speaking about shaving their most delicate of areas. Hmmm …Be like a Scout! Be prepared! Before going out on the town, one should shower, shave, and make themself smell very nice. It’s so very important and your company will surely appreciate your effort. After my long and hot shower that afternoon I went about my business of getting ready for the evening. I began the mundane routine of shaving my face and neck with the double edge blade. It was while I was lathering up with shave soap and scraping it off of my face with the cold hard steel, that I happened to glance down upon my jewels in the mirror’s reflection. I had an idea. Hey let’s make you look handsome too, I thought. I realized that for this I would need something different, something new, and something … well ... something that I have never tried using before. The Panasonic arc4 shaver is equipped with a linear motor to deliver 217 cuts per second and maintains peak power up to the end of every battery charge.I grabbed the Panasonic razor and I flicked the power switch to go. With my other hand, I grabbed a handful of skin and pulled it down as if I was closing a window shade. Better stretch this out, I thought. It will provide a closer shave. After making the first pass with the electric razor, my confidence grew. I had clearly grabbed the right tool for the job. On the second pass I marveled at the exquisite results that this razor was providing. While making the third pass, something bit me. “Ow!” I let out a high-pitched shriek. How many seconds did I use it? Blood was now rushing down both of my legs and pooling around my ankles and feet. I grabbed for tissue and realized quite quickly that this would prove ineffective at stopping the flow. What have I done?I stepped back into the tub to help mitigate the clean-up and pressed a clean wash cloth against the wound. Think Daniel, think! I had forty-five minutes left to go and get ready before heading out the door while still making it on time. You’ve got this!Seventy-Five minutes and a box of bandages later I was still losing blood. I realized that a decision soon had to be made regarding my plans for the evening. I needed to either: A) call off the date and perhaps notify my doctor or B) improvise, adapt, and overcome. If you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough, I thought! I packed my drawers with gauze bandages, got dressed, and headed out the door. Before pulling out of the driveway, I fired off a simple text message stating that I was running just a little bit late due to a cut and would be there shortly. Some things need not be shown. Upon arrival at my dates house I could see that she was inspecting my arms, hands, and face for some sort of wound that would warrant me being half an hour later than we had planned. Finally, she asked the question “where did you cut yourself”? Knowing full well that this was not something that I could simply explain, I stood up and reached for my belt buckle. “Would you like to see it” I asked? She nodded her head yes with approval. For the record, I did ask her twice.Doesn’t everyone love a surprise? As I lowered my jeans to show her, she let out shriek “You are still bleeding” she screamed. She sank back into the couch with a pale and bewildered look upon her face. “That is not what I was expecting” she said. I smiled and nodded back knowingly “Surprise!” By her reaction, you would have thought that it was she who had been cut. As we stared down at my dilemma, I could tell that she was beginning to feel weak. What I had failed to realize up until that point is that some folks don’t do quite so well at the sight of blood and she happened to be one of them. By now, this crimson pool had completely saturated the gauze bandages, underwear that I wore, and my new blue jeans.Welp! ‘Bout time for me to be hitting the ol’ dusty trail. After a lovely dinner, and time spent, I decided that it might be best for me to start making my way back home. It had now been approximately 480 minutes since injuring myself and there still seemed to be no signs of healing. I am not certain how long a body can continuously bleed out before that person becomes dizzy and passes out, but I do know that if this were to be my fate, I would prefer to collapse in my own home. We do not need any rumors being spread. Also, I would feel embarrassed if my date were to feel the need for legal representation after I was found. Some better news! After 840 to 900 minutes of suffering, the hemorrhaging finally stopped and I began the healing process. Everything is still where it is supposed to be and I have finally regained some of my strength back. I also continue to receive calls from my date from that evening. She wants to see what I do next.Keep It Clean & Keep It FunThe Panasonic arc4 shaver is a fantastic razor(But protect your jewels)

Smoothest Shave
I went through two inexpensive off-brand electric shavers in 2020 to replace a Braun 8000 series that I had for a little more than 5 years. The first had the battery begin failing after two months then completely failing after about 6 months. The second was just a bad shave but had the cover that contains the blades break in just over 60 days through normal cleaning operation.I had enough of the off-brand experiments after that. I went for this Panasonic after reading up on it and seeing the favorable reviews. The other reason was the in-line blades since I seem to have much better luck with those as opposed to the multi-circular rotating head style razors. The cutting area is wide, pivots and has 4 rows of blades. You can also flip a tab on the side of the shaving head to keep the head rigid forgoing the pivot function. The foil pops off easily with a tab at either side and snaps back into place just as simply. There is a digital display face indicating on/off, time spent shaving, and battery life. It will also indicate when you are in sonic mode for cleaning. It is one of the better shaver digital displays I've seen in terms of clarity. This razor cuts my beard about as smooth as any electric shaver I've used. There is no tugging or pulling out of hairs. The shaver glides across my face without snags or even rubbing of metal to skin. Everything seems to cut very closely in one pass which is something I did not get from the last 3 electric shavers I owned. I would even say that my shaving time is cut by at least 1/3 over the 3 rotating circular head shaver I used previously. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of shave I get from this. One thing that is head and shoulders above all the electric shavers I previously owned is the battery life. The first week I used this shaver (7 days straight), I was still at 65% battery life. I went ahead and plugged it into the charger and it took maybe 20 minutes to get up to a full 100% charge. I could take this thing on a trip away from home for a month with the included travel case, forget my charger, and likely still have a charge when I returned home. This also has a flip up beard trimmer. I occasionally use it for tidying up the side burns but that's about it. If you keep a trim beard you may get more use out of it than I.This shaver tells you when you need to clean it. I usually pop the foil off the blades about every other use and blow it out or lightly brush it. Every so often, depending on how thick a beard and how often you use it, you can do a sonic clean by pressing and holding the start button. This will make the blades vibrate faster and you can run it under the water for cleaning. You can also take a few drops of liquid soap and apply to the blades first and it will create a foaming clean when in sonic mode. Then just rinse under running water.I haven't tried a wet shave yet but I am curious. I may get some hot shaving gel and try it soon.

Great shaver
For probably 30 years I have suffered through some bad electric razors. As time went on, the quality became worse and worse. I gave up on the idea that you get what you pay for. Even the more expensive ones did a terrible job for me. In the end, I opted to buy cheap drugstore electric razors, treating them as disposable when the blades wore out.The last one I had purchased was a Remington and straight out of the box the razor was horrid. I couldn't get a clean shave if I worked at it for 20 minutes. It was so bad that after every shave I'd have to follow up with a regular razor to finish what the electric couldn't do. This is true with many of the electric razors I owned, but this last one took the cake. Well, the blade wore out making it worthless, and here I am. I set out to find something better. After reading reviews and I decided on the Panasonic's Arc4. And holy cats, this razor works well! With my first shave I had a three-day growth going and I fully expected the razor to fail miserably. Wrong! It gave me a clean shave, fast, even in the difficult to cut areas near the base of my nose, near my ears, and around my neck.Things I like:1. It cuts close and it does so in hard to cut areas.2. The razor feels balanced in your hand.3. It charges fast and holds a charge for a long time.4. The display reads nicely.5. It is easy to clean.6. The head assembly is easy to remove.Things I don't like:Nothing yet. The engineers did a great job with this razor and for the price point, it is worth every penny. Thus far--this is the best electric razor that I have ever owned.Time will tell how long the blades last, and if the unit fails for some reason.
