Beautiful Luxury Fan For Those Who Want The Best...AND You Can Clean It!
Vornado makes the best table fans, and they are worth the price. This one is from their retro designer luxury line, and it's a work of art. It's heavy, mostly all metal, premium copper-on-black materials...even the packaging is deluxe (including a drawstring dust cover). The slow speed is the quietest I have ever heard, almost inaudible, yet it moves a whole roomful of air with that amazing Vornado turbulence. It is SO quiet that you can forget it's on. A dim amber power light would help, but it's really perfect just as it is.Although style and quality were decision factors, I bought it because you can take the whole thing apart and clean the grill, blades, case and even the motor housing separately. A ritzy owner's manual tells you how in great detail with diagrams. Fans need periodic cleaning. Otherwise, over time, you're just blowing dust accumulated on the fan into your room, and gumming up the works with the friction. This feature should really extend fan life far beyond the 5-yr warranty. Another example of spending more for quality up front to get better performance and longer life (the same goes for clothing, TVs, automobiles and just about everything else).Besides, it looks so sexy sitting there on the table. A beautiful blend of quality, style and function, made in the USA!

Cute and functional.
I wanted a fan that I could leave out as more of a décor piece than something that was just an ugly fan circulating air in my living room. This retro fan is cute and actually fairly quiet if the setting is on low or medium. Also it is very solidly built. 10/10 would recommend.

Quiet and attractive fan
When I was shopping for a fan for my office, I came across this item and LOVE it. Yes, it's more expensive than I wanted to spend, however the fan is quiet and looks great on my desk! Instead of being all plastic - like most fans out there nowadays - this is metal, making it very sturdy. There are three settings that each serve their purpose, and even the highest setting is quiet enough for me to take a business call right next to the fan without turning it down. Plus, its retro-look is very attractive.

Close to dead silence and fantastic air circulation
I almost wish this fan made more noise, so could use for "white noise" effect, but it is mostly whisper-quiet, often cannot tell from across a small room (bedroom) that it is even running from the sound. BUTFrom the air circulation, YES, can tell it is running. I've used it almost solely on low setting while exercising in a house with thermostat set at 82F. The cooling effect is amazing - you do not need to be in the direct path of the blades, you can stand in an opposite corner of the room catty-corner BEHIND the fan and feel it pulling the air by you. Assuming it lasts some time, it gets a full five stars. (and I love the retro look, as well)

beautiful, does enough white noise + air
I wanted this for a touch of white noise, plus air circulation. It also needed to fit the dark/retro aesthetic of the room. It's very high quality and great looking. I know vornado has some sort of air circulation tech, but I just don't think, therefore, there's enough streamline cooling. I put it by the window at night and point it at me. It cools the room enough, but not me directly. I do think the price is a bit high, but I paid for the aesthetic and knowing that vornado has a good volume for me when it comes to needing white noise (I use level 3).

Gorgeous Fan
My husband is a fan addict. I ordered this to replace the dying vintage-looking tabletop he's had for years and ooo la la - this one is just is gorgeous. Ee said he had no idea how bad the old one was until this one arrived. A good price for a Very nice looking fan that performs beautifully.

Quality
It’s made sturdy the way things used to commonly be made. It looks very nice for a fan . It’s quiet . It pushes a lot of air .

Well made, heavy, good airflow - vintage look is very convicing!
The fan actually does feel like something made many years ago; it doesn't have that flimsy cheap feel most small fans have. I got this after I bumped a plastic fan I had and one of the blades flew off and jammed itself in the spokes.Provides a nice strong breeze with very little noise. It doesn't rotate just in case you missed that from the description. No complaints, I didn't have any damage or issues upon arrival. Worth it to spend a little extra.

Style + function = win
Legit air flow circulation. The small/jr (not mini, not full size) works well in an open concept 600 sqft space. The design is beautiful, much better than your standard fan and works as a decor accent. It's not silent, but that's because it is a fan with strong flow and made of metal so to be expected.

Poor quality for price
The fan itself is very loud notwithstanding the rattle on the back from a part that wasn’t fitted properly. It then stopped working after approximately 10 minutes of use.

Chrome and Gunmetal review.
Chrome arrived first. Cheap packaging, box not sealed. May have been a re-gift, or whatever you call it when you receive something another customer returned. I am very impressed with the look (I have a "thing" for chrome). Lowest setting is effective @ 2-3 meters and as close to silent as mechanically expected. Very quiet. High speed is good to 5 meters and much quieter than a normal fan pushing the same amount of air, which is less than a box fan would move. The vortex effect is not nearly as good as the Turbo Aire I use to have, perhaps the company should add a bit more power to the highest setting. Value... about $100 overpriced for what I got. But I have to concede that show chrome is expensive. The Gunmetal on the other hand... A+ for packaging on this one. I definitely know I got a unopened package. Fan itself was in a lint bag instead of plastic. Hard to believe these two fans came from the same company. Vortex effect on high was slightly better than the Chrome but still could use a bit more power. 5 settings instead of the three the Chrome comes with and low is even quieter, if that's possible. If I got this one in chrome, I would have got everything I expected for the money I payed. This fan was slightly smaller and $50 cheaper. Unless you have a chrome fetish, go for the Gunmetal. All around better, or at very least the same. Over time I may decide the Chrome is worth the money I paid and the Gunmetal is a real steal if they are still going strong 25 years from now. My hope that these fans are pre1980 quality was the deciding factor over sending the Chrome back, but I would have kept the Gunmetal regardless.

Looks awesome, good build quality, moves air well, and makes a pleasant noise
My primary reason for getting this fan was because i need to sleep with a fan on due to tinitis. I was purposely going for a fan that makes a uniform and pleasant noise.I keep this fan on my desk and it's been great, moves air pretty well too for its size. Not to mention this fan visually looks awesome. I did have to put a foam pad under it though because it was audibly vibrating my desk but thats pretty minor. On a more sturdy table or surface this probably wouldn't be necessary
