Good product. Used at the bottom of bathroom tub baseboard where water always damages trim and drywall.Used PVC baseboard and 'glued' in place with product so no nail holes to spackle...hopefully no more problems for years.😎

I know some folks have given this a bad review because they say it can't be sanded. Even the vendor states that this is not sandable. I read a review where one person said it sanded easily. Likely a fake review as this stuff does not sand.I use this to patch holes in areas that I don't need a super clean look such as in the garage. Recently the lower part of a panel in my garage that goes into my crawl space got damaged. It was about a six inch wide, one inch high hole. That is a fairly large hole. This is pretty thick and I first tried to fill the hole with a Bondo spreader with just this product and after a couple minutes it would start to sag, exposing the hole again. I quickly grabbed some fiberglass mesh drywall tape put it over the hole with the ElastoPatch still sagging, then used my Bondo spreader again moving the ElastoPatch back over the hole now covered with the fiberglass mesh tape and it held firmly. After letting it completely dry it looks great. As long as you spread this stuff and leave it still it does dry to a nice clean smooth surface. Some have claimed that it shrinks, but I have never had that problem. Just be sure you use it over a clean surface as it won't stick to dirty, oily surfaces.

This product does seem to do a good job for fixing cracks but just keep in mind that it is not like other drywall patch products. Basically, it's elastomeric caulking in a tub instead of a cartridge, so it has all the good and bad properties as such. Keep in mind that it cannot be sanded, but the claim that it doesn't shine-up matte paint once applied over it is correct. Does the job but be prepared to work with it's caulking-like nature.

My son used this product prior to painting. It seals great.

works for stucco; much better than the dap red tube. used on hairline cracks to 1in cracks betweeen wall and brick. GE silicone sealant went to 10$/tube. Too expensive. This at 5.98 when writing review. beats home depot, lowes, grainger prices

We have a new construction home and a large great room with big windows that experiences a lot of temperature changes as a result. We had a four-foot setting crack that kept re-appearing in the drywall over one of the windows despite the drywall contractor coming back several times to address it.I didn’t have the heart to call him back yet again when it re-appeared and I’m pretty good with a drywall knife so I bought this. I put three thin coats over the crack, sanded it lightly (it says it won’t sand but it worked well enough for this), painted over it, and voila, the crack is gone and has stayed that way through some pretty extreme temperature changes in the last six weeks.

I loved this product! We have a century home and the plaster walls are all the time cracking and re-cracking after they are skimmed over time and again. This product doesn't shrink and has a lot of stretch to it, so the cracks don't come back. Be aware, when using this you'll want to tightly skim it and get rid of any excess because the texture is like caulk, once its dry it's not sandable, but is much more moldable while wet if you need texture. I would encourage going over any patchwork with a second coat of regular joint compound for blending and sending before painting. We took a chance on this product and absolutely loved it for reoccurring plaster cracks! Just make sure you understand this product before using it in any major way!

If you have a crack that is caused by a "breathing" or unstable wall, then this solution will not work in terms of making your crack disappear. It might be useful for foundations/drywall that is stable. Furthermore, the fact that this is not sand-able means that the finished product will more than likely look terrible unless you are trying to use it as caulk to cover tiny cracks. Product also shrinks. I think this product resembles silicone sealant more than it does spackle or joint compound.It might be good for outdoor applications or are a sealant solution though.I tried using this on a crack on a breathing wall, and then putting joint compound along with tape, and the crack line appeared over what I tried. Yes, it does seal the crack, but you can still see it.
