I guess I should've known based on the price for this, but it doesn't look anything like the pictures. The trunk of the tree looks metallic in the pictures, but it is simply wire wrapped in reflective paper - not even tinfoil or metallic wrapping, but something more like Christmas wrapping paper. The base is also just plastic with a metallic paint finish.If you're expecting a good quality modern piece of lighted decoration for your house, this isn't it. I wouldn't even put this in my kids' rooms.On the plus side, I do like the idea of this. If they made a higher quality version of it I would purchase.

I bought this light tree for my Mother’s room in her nursing home. She loves the lights on the tree, it does look lovely but unfortunately it uses batteries and chews through them quickly. I’m using rechargeable batteries now but it’s hard to keep up the demand of the light. She does like to have it on for most of the day.
