Different capos work well with some guitars and some not. What I might use on a certain acoustic may not work well with some of my electrics. That being said, I play out professionally and my guitar of choice on stage is a Gretsch Duo-Jet. I went through a few different capos over the years, dissatisfied with all of them for the two big reasons, tuning distortion when I put the capo on so I had to re-tune every time I put the capo on or moved it. Reason two was that when I bent strings, quite often the string would not return to the original position. The G7 absolutely solved those problems. You have total control over the pressure you want to apply when putting it on. That makes a huge difference right there. You need different pressures depending on far far up the neck you are placing it. I have found with practice that I can put it on and stay pretty much in tune. Maybe adjust the low E a tiny bit, but not much. And when I bend, the strings stay in place. This is not a cheap capo, but well worth it IMO.

The media could not be loaded. Questionable quality for such a high price point and causes buzz even when properly clamped and utilized, no matter the position you put it in or how hard you squeeze it on. It’s possible I got a one-off fluke of a product and I like the look and idea but it isn’t quite there for $50. The quick release of the lever is nice and I like most of the design visually, but it doesn’t reach quite far enough across the fretboard and it can’t press on the strings evenly. For reference, I’m using an Epiphone PR-4e LE VS Acoustic Guitar (cutaway dreadnaught shape with a decently thick neck). I’ll likely return it.Update:Just had to break it in. I’m still not stoked about the poor adhesive quality or the weird branding about trafficking that comes with a *guitar capo* but once you mess with the product for long enough it breaks in and works pretty well. I don’t speculate that it will last any more than a year though.

Best capo I ever had - and I have over the years tried all of them. It is somewhat expensive - but it you want a pro quality one that keeps you well in tune - go for it! (just don't lose it or lend it to someone in your band who doesn't give it back)!

I was so excited to get one of these as I've seen so many positive reviews. I have three guitars. Two acoustic and one Fender Strat. It's takes so much effort to get it to work. I'll struggle with it five or six time until I can get it to work without fret buzz. It rarely works on my Takamine acoustic. I have better success on my Maton but not by much. My electric, Fender Strat forget about it. I can get it to work, but then it's out of tune. I've watched numerous videos to see if I am doing it wrong. Sorry, I'm returning this.

This capo effectively becomes the nut better than any trigger/spring capo I've ever used. It cradles each string with minimal downward pressure (lot's of daylight between the string and fretboard). The action feels totally natural, and no muting effect – tone and sustain are good. I played for an hour and required minimal retuning when I removed it. 5 stars because everything claimed about the product is true, and the "tension system" is not a gimmick, it is a bonafide innovation. My guitar loves it. I'm using it on a Taylor 314 accoustic with 12.5-54 strings, mileage may vary. Wear and tear TBD.
