Silentnight 1400 Pocket Natural Wool Mattress | Tailored Back Support | Firm | Super King

I am not sure where all the raving reviews come from, as my experience with the Silentnight Stratus 1850 was quite different. First of all it isn't either firm, nor medium-firm as everyone claims, but rather medium-soft if anything. The edges do not hold as most people say, but that frankly is not much of a problem. The real problem is that this mattress sinks in the middle after a couple of nights. I tried to change base, and I even tried to use no base at all, but the result is always the same, the uncomfortable sinking towards the middle of the mattress. I tried also turning it over multiple times, nothing changes. In my opinion you are better off buying a much cheaper spring mattress that will serve you just as well. Lots of hype around this one but really none of it is justified. I got mine during one of the regular sales, bringing the £650+ king size down to £365, but even at the discounted price this is not a good value proposition. If I could go back I would look elsewhere, and I hope this review will help someone else not to make the same mistake. Note I had the mattress for over a month.

I have left it a good few weeks before commenting on this mattress so I could get a good feel for it. It is a heavy mattress and certainly needed the handles for turning.I have always had a mattress that you could turn but my previous one to this was a one sided mattress with a soft topper attached, after a few years of this type I vowed that my next mattress would be of a proper turning type as I don't care what the manufacturers say I feel that a mattress needs turning to stay at its best as my last one seemed to just deteriorate from the word go as we made our dents each side that just got deeper and deeper ! so I'm glad I purchased this new one.I was lucky to have bought this at a bit of a discount as well when Amazon had an offer so that made it all the better.Myself and my partner have had a good restful sleep on this mattress since purchasing it. Its not too hard and not too soft so that you can feel the support is there. It gives a nice comfortable feel and both my partner and myself have previously been back pain sufferers so this has been a welcome mattress.Just remember to turn it regularly, I do this once a week on changing the sheets and its still nice like new.

Very comfy at first my daughter tells me but after a few months she can now feel the knobbly bits on the top of the mattress and it also slopes at the edges if she lyes to close to the sides.

Bought in Dec so had it for over 7 months now. Good thick and comfy mattress. Have been turning it every couple of weeks, as instructed. I managed to get this kingsize for under £400, so I thought it was good value. Had a sealy in the past for over £600 and wasn't that impressed (purchased from the staff shop).

We LOVE this mattress, it's actually the 2nd one we've bought. My husband bought the first one for our double bed and I thought he'd lost his mind spending so much. I had been floor sleeping at the time as mattresses always left me waking up with back ache. He has a tethered spinal cord so a lot of neck, back and hip pain. He also found other mattresses too hot. He has found so much relief from this mattress that when I wanted to upgrade to a super king bed I knew I had to buy him the same mattress no matter what the cost. I have never spent so much on a mattress before in my life but it's worth every penny. I am now more than happy to sleep with him as we have so much space and I no longer wake up in pain.

Had a memory foam mattress by sealey prior to this, and i think this mattress is a lot firmer. It is really high/ deep to so i have to jump on the bed to get in it now. Very comfortable and would recommend.

This mattress although comfy and good value is not true to size. It’s short in length and too wide in width and doesn’t sit on the base properly. The mattress also slants to the right when seated. Had already got rid of old mattress so had no option but to keep. The gap at the headboard end means the pillows disappear during the night.It may of been a one off re the size so can’t recommend. It is comfy though and has relieved pressure pain from hips and shoulders.
