Makes better dark lines more easily
Better dark lines than US#2 pencils. They don't break easily either so very happy.

OK for lefties.
This is just slightly darker than the 0.7mm HB leads that are at every store in the country. More like the #2 wooden pencils when you were a kid. I did want darker but darker is not available in a 0.7mm lead. To get darker I have to drop down to 0.5mm. I'm a lefty and pushing a 0.5 mm is too much scratchy resistance. This works fairly well for me as a writing lead. No visible smudging. It is noticeably more towards the black color spectrum and away from the gray. Adding extra pressure makes the line noticeably darker. I liked the effect. The slightly softer lead only produced a slightly different feedback sensation. My handwriting is mostly unchanged but it does require a bit more concentration to stay as neat as I was.

Let me state the facts
I use the Pentel Ain Stein in every .7 mechanical pencil I have including the Zebra Del Guard and the Pentel Twist Erase models It is darker not only of the common HB lead, but darker than other 2B leads that I have used.It does not break, and I apply more than mild pressure.It’s also easy to erase despite being a darker lead.I have ordered the Pen Ain Stein leads many times and the quality is the same.Also I use this same brand in 2B for a .9 pencil without any problems.I won’t buy any other brands anymore.
