We usually advise users of our pulse oximeters to keep their hand still while taking a reading because any movement can cause the device to reset its' reading. If you are in the middle of exercising, you can perhaps take the readings in between running/walking. I hope this helps. We do carry pulse oximeter model 500C that has the alarm function. The alarm allows you to set high and low parameters for both blood oxygen level (SpO2) and pulse rate.
