Wouldn’t want to miss the reunion.
This is a pretty solid collection of stories, three of them: Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum and The Female War. Together these three books are the direct sequel to the movie Aliens and the continuing adventures of Ripley, Hicks and Newt. Kind of. You have to keep in mind that these were written before Alien 3 came out, and that is the most glaring problem.Twentieth Century Fox wants to keep continuity between all Alien properties, an admirable goal, but the only way to accomplish it now is to change either the books or the films. Guess which one they chose? They fixed this conundrum in the laziest way possible. Since Newt and Hicks are dead in the opening credits of Alien 3 they decided to just do a “find and replace” on their names, changing them to Billie (Newt) and Wilks (Hicks). Ugh, I hate it. They should have just let the movie and literature universes be separate, like Marvel, because they have made these stories worse by doing this. Not just worse, but confusing, because now you have to mentally translate these names back to the ones you know. It’s kind of disgusting really, I don’t think I will ever read these again, although I’m glad I made the effort. I always wondered what could have been.

About Freaking Time!
All the 5star reviews have expressed my sentiments about this book. Hopefully, they release all the other Aliens Dark Horse novels from the mid 90's. I have the comics to this book and the other Alien books, but I enjoy the novelization much more. Now "they" need to release all Predator Dark Horse novels! One complaint: why can't publishers release all these books at the same time? These books are 20yrs old.

The Steve Perry "Aliens" trilogy - on Kindle at last!
I originally read these books in high school, and loved 'em. I've been requesting Amazon get these books released on Kindle for years, and to get them all for the price of one was an amazing deal (at least to me).Set roughly ten years after the movie "Aliens", veteran sci-fi writer Steve Perry tells a great story of the aliens and their escape into the wilds on Earth, while disgraced Colonial Marine Sgt. Wilks and Billie, a female survivor from an alien invasion of another colony which occurred around the same time as the crisis in the second movie. Surprisingly, Ripley shows up for the third book. How? Read and find out. ;-)That's all I'm going to reveal in this review about the plot of this book trilogy. As with any of the Alien movies, Perry does not shy away from the graphic violence that comes from dealing with a deadly species like the aliens. He also developed his characters into real and believable people who fit right into the mythos of the Alien stories. As for sexual content, yes - there are a few scenes in Earth Hive and The Female War (which Perry wrote with his daughter). Perry does not shy away from detail necessary to provide a real you-are-there feeling, but doesn't go into blatantly disgustingly graphic.Any sign of Predators? No.Any Engineers (from the movie "Prometheus")? Ehhh . . . yes and no. There is a creature that Perry developed, based off the appearance of the fossilized Engineer pilot - and since these books were released long before "Prometheus", which revealed that the pilot was in a flight suit, the creature in this book looks very different - but it does fly an Engineer ship. Since this continuity error is the result of a new movie, and not author's lack of attention, I can overlook it.Whether or not this story continues in the upcoming Vol. 2 Omnibus, I don't know. I haven't read those.

Excellent stories. Highly recommended.
Loved these books. Read them many years ago when they first came out and had to re-read them again. The overall plots are believable and clear but not predictable. The characters are very three dimensional and relatable. The writing is clear and concise. Great start to the Alien novel collection.I've read about twenty of these Alien books yet these three first books are still my favorite.Steve Perry is an awesome writer. These are a great addition to the Alien saga.

Old school aliens
I enjoyed these books way back when they were individual paperbacks, love the story line that felt like a book adaption from the second alien movie with the exception of of adding different main characters and branching off on a whole different tangent then escaping from the colony and dying on a penal colony. I won't spoil your reading so enjoy.

On there own okay, but together great!
The first book started slow but as I continued they became more exciting. I’ve read several Alien books before this and I really enjoyed these. Great trilogy.

Good stuff fun read
Grwatboks if you like Alien. Like the star wars legends series a lot of these novels are contridictec by the later movies, but in my mind there are only two alien films, the first two. I liked these better than alien 3 or resurection

Tasty in places but mostly forgettable
As an Alien fan I was excited to find this collection of 3 stories especially because Ellen Ripley appeared in the final one. My expectations began to slowly drop as I read unfortunately. There were some action scenes that were interesting and in the vein of Aliens but others that were pretty ridiculous. I would not hire these authors to write an Alien screenplay for sure.

Fast paced, horrific, brilliant!
I'd forgotten how good these books are! Earth Hive, Nightmare Asylum & Female War follow the adventures of Wilks & Billie, two characters not too dissimilar to Hicks & Newt from Aliens. The action is superbly written and the characters likable, even the detestable Spears. Recommended to all Aliens fans, this should have been the sequel to Cameron's film. Watch out for a cameo from a certain survivor from the Nostromo... 😉

Great action stories for Aliens fans
I first read these a long time ago when they were first published and was happy to pick them up again when they were re-released. Earth Hive and Nightmare Asylum are both really good and make you think how our planet would cope if the Xeno's ever got here. I found The Female War a but weak to be honest but that is just my opinion and I know lots of other people enjoyed it. There are a lot of other novels in this series (Rogue was a particular favourite of mine) that, along with these, I would recommend to any fan of the series.

Bought for the Nostalgia
First read the three novels contained in this Omnibus over 20 years ago. Enjoyed them then as they captured a lot of the feel of the movies. Not going to win any major prizes for literature, but a nice guilty pleasure and very much enjoyed reading them again.

Read the first but gave up in horror and disappointment
Really poorly written: almost like it was a children's book - if it wasn't for the gore. It has all the 'Alien' tropes, but it's all so very predictable. I'm a huge fan of most things 'Alien', but this derivative trash is too much for me. Signing out.

Fantastic, out of this world
I loved the Alien films, and this book doesn't let them down. From start to finish it's not stop alien action. I'm looking forward to reading Alien Omnibus Volume Two.

Love the book! Careless packaging
I love the book it's amazing. It was packaged badly though, my copy has dog ears and some very minor fraying around the edges of the book.

If you love the movies, you will love this!
Loved the stories. Could not put the book down and finished it in a matter of days. Not sure if I missed abit ,but would of been nice to read if the plan of getting rid of the Queen of Queens and her children actually did work as they planned 😕. Overall though a fantastic read

Aliens Volume One
An interesting trio of stories about what occurred between the second and third Alien films. The characters grow as the story progresses, with a strong action element.
