Cannibal Campout

When you think of John McBride, you really never think of a brilliant movie. You think of a fun, cheap shot on video movie experience. This movie for me is still and will always be his best effort.For a shot on VHS movie you'd think everything would suck, from the gore to the acting and surely the directing. This movie seemed to have a lot going for it. The acting wasn't great, but it was pretty good. The killer were nicely contrived and acted, the blood and gore was phenominal for such a low budget production.It's a fun, fun movie. Loved it.

My friend and I(we were around 13, 14yrs old) rented this gem and watched it after-school on a friday evening. The cover alone let's one know what type of film your going to watch. This is why I don't understand people who have seen the cover, watch the movie and then trash it as if they were expecting a horror classic like the excorcist or Halloween. Though for me this is a horror classic. It was the film that drew me into its gory grope hole. And as I emerged with a bloody grin my heart was content. This is a camp/gore/bloodbath/splatter film if you dont like this type of movie just dont watch it. Most are very low budget, hence their charm...God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving ! !

The only reason I gave 2 stars is that the movie, music, lighting etc. is horrible and even being so bad it reminds my play I did in high school only it I liked.lol..I love bad b movies but honestly, this one should give YOU 5 stars for making it all the way through LOL.

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It has terrible lighting, very bad actors, and the whole story makes no sense. I have seen some bad movies, but this is one of the worst.

OMG! I just couldn't do it. That was just irritatingly bad, bad, bad. I swear, I can't think of any other movie that's worst than what I've just witnessed. OMG! Horrible!

You have to wonder why more slashers didn’t have a killer with a fighter pilot helmet. Maybe Joe has one on in this because it came out after Top Gun, unlike the majority of slice and dice movies. Regardless, it’s a great look*, even if the quality of this movie isn’t always top of mind.Don’t get used to any of the victims. I mean that — everyone, including their unborn children — is fair game for the three killers. In addition to Joe, there’s Rich and Gene, hillbillies who treat their mother with the same kind of reverence as Addley and Ike do their mama in Mother’s Day.McBride would follow this gory assault on senses with Woodchipper Massacre, which is just as disgusting and I say that with love. Despite the lack of taste, budget, effects and acting on display here, this movie made me laugh numerous time and really, isn’t that why we watch these things? There’s no defending my love of this film — much less any SOV piece of junk — but there is no need for defense. I don’t believe in guilty pleasures and I am unashamed to admit that I like plenty of absolutely revolting and poorly made movies.*It also covers the face of co-director Jon McBride and probably allows him to have others in the shot while he directs.

Basic plot. A group of teens go camping in the woods and meet some crazy guys who decide to stalk them. Even worse for the teens that the crazies are cannibals. An average gore movie, low budget but makes the most out of the budget it had. The main problem is it takes ages for any good stuff to occur. There is loads of shots of the teens talking about stuff and to be honest as they are annoying and paper thin plot wise you are really waiting to see them get ripped up. When the cannibals are on the screen its great fun. They are all over the top and camp to the max but great to watch. The gore is pretty good to, lots of machete shots. The last half hour is awesome as its all cannibals. Stick with it till then and you'll be fine.

This movie is everything you would want in a SOV Horror movie, its cheesy, its gory and the acting is so bad its funny.The gore in this movie is very realistic and very well done, and the group of Cannibals are hilarious and creepy.Definitely buy this movie if you are a fan of SOV/Shot on video movies.

This dvd is so awesome ,i have seen the trailer i was very glad i bought this dvd and the good thing about this dvd .Their was Splatterhouse,Wood chipp masaacre and others.the bonus stuff was good i love horror movies alot.If your tired of saw or some of that new crap sucks.I love those horror movies from the 60's,70's and the 80's. Buy this movie it will make throw up and stuff.
