Good for the price - a little rough though
What do you expect for $20 or so tuners?I installed them last evening and you hit some rough spots turning, but its not real bad. Definitely usable and they work for this project. Just don't expect the smoothness of a set of $200 set. Would buy again if I needed a budget planetary tuner.

They are a very good value, but delivery time is long
They are a very good value, but delivery time is long. ALso I had problems with pegs arriving but not working. The manufacturer replaced the broken units . All in all, while it took a long time, a favorable transaction.

Not elite, but a good value
4:1 planetary tuners. The 5th-string tuner is 10:1. Not elite, but a good value.

Good Deal, but Expect Issues/Flaws
These tuners are an incredible deal, as long as you understand what you are buying. They are less than a third the price of any other planetary tuners on the market that I could find. And free shipping. From China. My order arrived in less than two weeks. Upon inspection, the tuning machines seem to be clones of other unmarked tuners in the $50-$65 range. The only issue was some bad casting on one of the threaded hex caps making it impossible to tighten it flush with the headstock. I was able to file the offending flash off, rather than go through the hassle of returning/exchanging them. My assumption is that these $20 buck machines are "seconds" from the manufacturer, and so you can expect imperfections. I was looking for a set that I could "age" with etching solution to match the patina of other metal parts on a no-name banjo I am rehabing for fun. They are a definite upgrade from the friction tuners that were original equipment on my B'jo, but if you are looking for quality control, I suggest upgrading to a brand-name.

3 of 4 straight pegs didn't turn smoothly, as if the gears were misshapen inside
Bought from seller “Surfing Musical(FBA 2-3days, other in 10-20 work days).” Product looked fine, but 3 of the 4 planetary (straight) pegs didn't turn smoothly all the way around, as if the gears were misshapen inside. Not worth $23. The 5th-string peg appeared to be fine. I didn't test them under pressure with strings because I knew I didn't want to keep them, so I don't know how well they hold. Gear ratio appears to be 4-to-1 on the straight pegs, where 4 turns of the peg head equals 1 full turn of the post. Seller “SoleRot” had a slightly better product for cheaper, maybe 2.5 stars out of 5, and only $19, but again, 3 of the 4 pegs didn't turn smoothly all the way around--though it was smoother than this seller's product. I am a bargain shopper, but trust me when I say you would be much better off just shelling out for real planetary banjo tuning pegs at closer to $75

Just as good as the ones I paid $90 for. EXCELLENT!
WELL, first off they were $20, second, they were shipped out of china. I wasnt expecting much at all. I was amazed. I got them in record time (9) days, from China. The quality floored me, outstanding! I put them on a very old Vega banjo I have had for over 40 years. They were as good or perhaps better than the ones that came with the banjo. Quality, excellent, service and shipping, excellent.
