Working great out of the box.
I bought this for my 4 1/2 year old son who is a lefty. He can already cast quite well by himself, but his old rod and reel stopped retrieving shortly after one season. This setup came yesterday. I set it up with a sliding weight (1/4oz tungsten worm weight) on a texas rig setup and had him practice casting in the yard. 20 perfect casts in a row with no sign of hangup on release or retrieve issues. He is going to enjoy fishing a lot more. Hoping this setup lasts him a couple-three seasons or so.

Dont buy it.
The reel was broken on the first one we ordered. We received the second one and the drag adjustment does not work. I am very disappointed in this combo, specifically because I believed Pfluger reels to of higher quality. I will never purchase another Pfluger product.
