I really liked it....
This story follows Billie Lurk/Meagan Foster after the events of "Death of the Outsider". Because of the death or removal of the Outsider from the Void, strange things have been happening to the world and Billie has to investigate by going to Morley. I really liked the writing, seeing new parts of the Empire (Morley), flashbacks to a young Vera Moray (aka Granny Rags), etc. A good book for Dishonored addicts.

Good book, poor quality Amazon handling.
The novels are good and fill in well around the games. The books were in excellent condition, but beware as Amazon sent ours loose in a box with a heavy bottle of cleaner fluid that bent both books up. I get it, you were likely in a hurry and you think your job sucks, but man up and stop tearing up people's orders because that's all on you and your choices.

It's OK. A little slow at first but has interesting developments for the lore of the series.
"Dishonored - the Veiled Terror" follows Billie Lurke about a year after the events of Death of the Outsider. The story begins in the Month of Wind, 1853.After the fall of the Outsider, rifts to the Void opened up across the Empire of the Isles. People also began having nightmares, since the Void is linked to the mind, especially during sleep. Furthermore, Billie's powers have weakened and become erratic and painful to use.The book starts in Dunwall, and Billie travels to Tivia and Morley in her quest to learn more about these arcane rifts that threaten the world. The plot is slow until about 50% of the way through the book. IMO the author spends too much space describing scenery instead of pushing the plot forward. Fanatics who are hungry for more Dishonored lore won't care, but people who are only casual fans of the series might have a hard time getting to the real action. There is interesting world-building, and some questions from Dishonored 2 and the Death of the Outsider are answered. However, the most important question from DotO is left vague. I don't like this, but I understand that the writers want to preserve narrative freedom for any future books, comics or games. In the end, Billie's discoveries will have huge ramifications for the future of the Empire of the Isles. I'm really interested to see where the series goes after this story.

Must play
Badass. Is that one word or two?? Whichever, it’s awesome.

great read and fun adventure continuing the story from the previous two books
i liked how Billie took on a more fleshed out role from the Daud book into her own story. Utterly fascinating with the use of science and magic and temporal shifting.

A Boring Tale
This is the last of the loose trilogy of Dishonored tie-in novels. I thought the first entry--The Corroded Man--was a decent if not serviceable book. Unfortunately, the quality of each subsequent novel has dropped considerably until we're left with this shell of a story. The book follows Billie Lurk a year after "Dishonored: Death of the Outsider." The world has changed after the Outsider's downfall and now portals into the Void have appeared all over the Continent. Billie Lurk goes to investigate their cause and try to fix a world she helped break.Basically, not much happens in "The Veiled Terror" until the very end. This is made worse by the perfunctory and monotone writing style. The most egregious crime, however, was the story's flow. I'm not exaggerating in saying that 80% of book's narrative is: Billie travels from point A to point B. There, she finds a character that provides her with exposition. Armed with this new info, Billie travels somewhere else until she discovers yet another person who graces her with an info dump to move the plot along. Rinse and repeat. There are a couple of interesting lore snippets referencing the world after Billie's actions in "Death of the Outsider," but these are better found on a wiki or a forum. It's just not worth it to slog through this novel, however short it may be.
