Works great on my MacPro3
Works great on my MacPro3,1 (early 2008) with OSX 10.10.5. I added a slightly modified StarTech LP4SATAFM12 cable adapter for powering the card's USB ports. The needed adapter cable goes from the Molex connector on the card to the SATA drive connector (used nearby bay number 4 of 4). With an external SSD drive with USB 3 cable, the read/write went from 38.4/28.5 MB/s with the MacPro's original USB 2 connection to 182.0/178.9 MB/s with new USB 3.0 connection. The test was using BlackMagicDesign's Disk Speed Test app; a Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SSD drive; and a StarTech SATDOCKU3SEF Hard Drive docking station. For comparison, a Samsung 840 EVO 500 GB SSD in the MacPro's 300 MB/s native SATA 2.0 port (without any USB connection) had a read/write speed of 271.0/218.0 MB/s.I previously tried another similar card that claimed to to have the FL1100 chipset (but did not) and it would not work on my MacPro. This card DOES have the FL1100 chipset and DOES work on my MacPro with OSX 10.10,5 without any additional drivers needed.
