Ambient Weather TX-3102 Soil Moisture Meter & Thermometer for WS-7078, WS-7079, WS-8482, WS-8478 Weather Stations

The first one failed as the battery would die within a week. Both the Ambient company and Amazon were quick to replace and the second one seems to be working well. If this one keeps working I will likely order more.

Mine died after about a year outside. I changed the batteries since after a few months. Tried to change them again after a year and it won’t turn back on. Not sure if it was worth it for just one year. But I really did like it while it worked.

Batteries were poor.

So far I'm using this in an indoor lime tree. In a deep pot, it can be hard to tell when watering is needed. Since the plant is near the patio door, it's also keeping track of the temp in that part of the room. In the spring, I plan on using it in the garden to find out the soil temp and when it's best to plant.Note: This is a sensor and doesn't provide any information on it's own. It' used in conjunction with a receiver.

Paired nicely with my weather station and gave accurate temperature and moisture readings. Stopped working after 4 months. Replaced the battery, ran all troubleshooting steps to no avail. Have to send it back, get the manufacturer to repair or replace it. Save your money and get a good analog sensor.

Great little sensor very accurate

The set of batteries supplied with this device lasted almost a week. Suspecting old batteries, I replaced them with a fresh set of lithium batteries. The new batteries lasted no longer. It's a nice idea and actually worked for almost a week, but some engineer did not spec. the current draw correctly. This device is unusable.

I bought two of these to connect to my WS-8482. One works fine, but the other will not send humidity data. Just absolute junk. Total crap shoot as to whether you’ll get one that works. Don’t buy.
